Yes. The summer internship is a mandatory, credit-bearing component of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) curriculum. It provides students/participants with practical corporate exposure between academic terms.
SPJIMR introduced the Summer Internships model beginning with the Class of 2024–2026.
Earlier cohorts, including the Class of 2023–2025, completed Autumn Internships.
The Summer Internship typically lasts two months.
For example, participants in the Class of 2026–2028 are scheduled to complete their internship during April and May 2027.
The Summer Internships recruitment process generally follows this timeline:
Historically, 40% to 50% of participants receive a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) through their internships or corporate competitions.
These offers enable them to secure employment before the final placement process begins.
Students/participants who accept a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) through their internship or corporate competitions are not eligible to participate in the subsequent final placement process, as they have already secured employment.
Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) for final placements generally begin around 45 days before Placement Week, typically starting in November. The exact schedule may vary each year.
The final placement interviews and selection process are generally scheduled for mid-December.
For example, mid-December 2026 is the planned timeline for the graduating class of 2027.
Participants who secure employment through the final placement process typically join their organisations from May onwards in their graduating year.
The joining date may vary depending on the recruiting organisation.
