Since its inception, SPJIMR has pioneered several unique initiatives that have established its reputation as a world leader in creating positive societal impact. These initiatives deeply integrate the SPJIMR community of participants, faculty, and professional staff with our local K-Ward community, with grassroots NGOs across the Indian subcontinent, and the emerging community of entrepreneurs dedicated to creating positive societal impact.

SPJIMR is committed to achieving seven focused Sustainable Development Goals through its teaching, research, and community engagement. The institute aspires to become a Net Zero campus by 2030, pursuing initiatives in green energy, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable waste management.

Immersive experiences
SPJIMR was the first management school in India to introduce ‘non-classroom learning’ experiences in its pedagogy more than twenty years ago, and constant innovation has kept it at the forefront.
Its participants immerse themselves in a carefully curated set of experiences that are designed to put them outside their comfort zone. Collectively, these experiences accelerate their leadership development, teaching them to understand, reflect, and act in unfamiliar situations.
Practice focus
SPJIMR’s mission to influence practice permeates everything it does in co-creating curriculum with the industry and bridging the worlds of theory and practice. The faculty is a unique mix of accomplished scholars, richly experienced industry and non-profit practitioners, and hybrid scholar-practitioners.
A quest for relevance guides their research. SPJIMR’s four Centres of Practice (CoP) focus on learning about and influencing important communities. As a result, SPJIMR participants are more practice-ready upon graduation than their external peers.
Mumbai location
Mumbai is one of the world’s most vibrant cities, blending a dynamic commercial culture with a global and cosmopolitan outlook. Our strong ties with national and international businesses in Mumbai add currency, relevance, and impact to our teaching and thought leadership and produce outstanding placement results.
Participants are exposed to leading practitioners in the classroom while they enjoy the excitement and cultural flair of Mumbai outside the classroom.
