SPJIMR faculty, students and staff gathered together on Zoom to celebrate the institute's first ever virtual Teachers Day event on India’s National Teachers’ Day on 5th September. The event was organized by current SPJIMR participants across programmes.
SPJIMR's Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGPDM) welcomed its 18th batch of participants in a virtual inauguration ceremony, held on Friday, September 4, 2020. The ceremony was attended by incoming participants, SPJIMR faculty and staff.
Eminent personalities from the banking industry gave greats insights about the current banking ecosystem in India and the challenges and roadblocks the industry is facing in terms of disclosures and overall governance. They went on to discuss some mitigating steps that the RBI and the Government could take in order to solve the prevalent issues.

The celebrations began with the live streaming of the flag hoisting ceremony from SPJIMR campus, attended by SPJIMR professors, Dr Suranjan Das, Dr Sajeev Abraham George, Dr Vidhu Shekhar and Dr Sreedevi R. The flag was hoisted by Dr Suranjan Das.

SPJIMR welcomed the PGDM Class of 2022, consisting of 243 participants through the programme’s first ever-online inauguration, held on Saturday, August 1, 2020. The virtual ceremony was attended by incoming students, current students, faculty, and staff.
In an insightful webinar conducted on July 14th by the Center for Financial Studies (CFS), the leading pundits of the finance industry Dr. V Anantha Nageswaran, Dr. Pronab Sen, Dr. Rathin Roy, Professor Ananth Narayan and moderator, Ms. Ira Dugal discussed what needs to be done to revive the Indian economy. The panellists were of the view that the government must work on a well-communicated medium-term strategy and pitched for a second round of stimulus with a greater focus on small businesses.
The Centre of Financial Studies (CFS) organized a webinar on June 26th on the topic, ‘Reflections On Economics And Journalism’ featuring leading Indian business media editors and moderated by SPJIMR Professor Ananth Narayan.
The 12th batch of GMP - Global Management Programme (GMP) was inaugurated today - June 22, 2020. Following social distancing norms, the inauguration was held online. This is certainly a different experience compared to what is done traditionally. SPJIMR’s faculty, staff, and GMP alumni welcomed 37 participants from diverse backgrounds. Alumni from the batch of 2010 to 2018, attended from 8 different locations around the globe. Some of the notable alumni who interacted with the new batch are Capt. Mayur Paralkar, Roohi Mittal, Avana Maity, Anuj Tewari, Siddharth Saboo, Divya Agrawal, Bhuvnesh Sharma, Shikha Sharma and Mamta Bijlani. Alumni spoke about their journey and encouraged the new batch to get in touch with them whenever the need be.
