May 11-12, 2024

SPJIMR Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA), in partnership with Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies (EEMCS), hosted a two-day offline Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Case Writing at SPJIMR Mumbai. The FDP team, comprising Prof. Snehal Shah, Associate Dean, Academics and Research; Prof. Tanvi Mankodi, Lead, TLA; Prof. Debmallaya Chatterjee; Prof. Amol Dhaigude; Ms Rutuja Malusare; and two SPJIMR FPM scholars, inaugurated the FDP on 11 May 2024. The event witnessed remarkable participation from over 50 accomplished faculty members and Ph.D. scholars from eminent business schools across India.

The FDP provided a vibrant platform for exchanging insights and experiences on enhancing the craft of writing case studies ready for publication. Day one explored the frameworks of crafting compelling plots, narratives, characters, and dilemmas, equipping participants with the expertise to develop engaging and impactful cases. Day two focused on the essential aspect of creating comprehensive teaching notes designed to facilitate stimulating and productive class discussions. The event fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among the academic community interested in case writing.

The expert sessions were facilitated by SPJIMR professors Debmallaya Chatterjee and Amol Dhaigude. Key highlights included publication prospects in the upcoming EEMCS special issue centred around ‘Data-driven decision-making in the era of technology disruption’. To learn more, click here.
