PGPFMB admission process

The PGPFMB admissions are on a rolling basis and aspirants can apply throughout the year. The programme intakes two batches every year, in April and September. The admission process comprises of Online Aptitude Test – Interview –Assessment – Selection / Rejection.

One of the important eligibility criteria is to have a mentor’s support.

A preferred mentor is:

  • A senior family member (not necessarily the father) involved actively in the business. He/she should be willing to mentor the participant through the course.
  • He/she should be willing to commit to the use of the family business as the test bed for course projects.

SPJIMR does not have any quota, management, or otherwise. The assessment of an applicant is on the basis of his/her profile, the qualifying entrance scores, and the interview process. SPJIMR communicates directly with all the shortlisted candidates. Eligibility

The potential candidate for the PGPFMB programme will need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • The applicant must have passed an undergraduate programme from a certified/recognised University.
  • The applicant must be a member of a family-managed business (at least second generation) with a significant stake in the business.
  • The applicant must be interested in carrying on the legacy of his family business.
  • The applicant must have a senior-generation mentor from the family.

Application process

  • The participant will need to apply online and pay the application processing fee either through net banking, debit or credit card.
  • The admission process comprises of the following;
    • Online Aptitude Test
    • Interview
    • Assessment
    • Selection/ Rejection.
  • The online aptitude test measures the candidate’s suitability for the programme based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude. Considering it is an aptitude test, no prior preparation is required.
  • Participants will be required to make a brief PowerPoint presentation regarding their business and future plans. The process will comprise one or two rounds of interviews with both the participant and his mentor, to assess the participant’s suitability for the programme. The selected participants desirous of joining the programme will have to pay the fees as per the fee schedule.
  • If, for some reason, the participant is unable to join the given batch, he/she may indicate the decision to join the programme in the following batch. The institute’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding.

Selection process

  • Selection of a participant for PGPFMB is based on three parameters – the Candidate, their Business and the Mentor.
  • Each parameter comprises further composite criteria to assess the participant’s suitability for the programme and their business acumen, the nature of the business and its potential, as well as the mentor’s commitment to the programme and its requirements of using the business as a lab.
