PGPM batch 21 bids farewell to SPJIMR

January 21, 2026

The SPJIMR community came together to mark the farewell of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) batch 21, celebrating the end of an enriching journey and the beginning of new chapters for the graduating cohort. Over 18 months at S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), the PGPM batch experienced rigorous academic learning, industry immersion, value-based leadership development, and transformative peer interactions. This milestone reflected not only the completion of the programme but also the shaping of future leaders guided by SPJIMR’s ethos of purpose, impact, and excellence.

Setting the tone for the evening, Prof. Renuka Kamath, Associate Dean, Full-time Programmes, opened the ceremony with warm wishes for the batch. She reminded participants that “life rarely offers ideal solutions; it asks us to make thoughtful trade-offs and define happiness on our own terms.” Her words resonated deeply as the cohort prepared to navigate the complexities of their professional journeys.

Prof. Anshul Verma, Chairperson, Post Graduate Programme in Management, emphasised the importance of continuous learning in an ever-evolving world. “In an age shaped by AI, the most valuable asset will always be a thinking, evolving mind,” he remarked, urging the batch to remain curious and adaptable throughout their careers. He also highlighted a significant academic milestone, sharing that this was the first PGPM batch to achieve double-digit case study publications—an achievement that drew appreciation from the audience.

In his trademark style, Prof. Amol. S. Dhaigude, Deputy Programme Chairperson, Post Graduate Programme in Management, engaged the audience with humour. Speaking fondly about the batch, he highlighted a particularly remarkable fact: not a single student had approached him for an extension on assignment deadlines. The observation drew laughter and applause, underscoring the batch’s dedication and discipline.

Bhishm Chugani, Director, Alumni Relations and Career Services, shared a powerful message about the role of alumni in strengthening the institution. “An institution grows stronger when its alumni choose to support those who follow,” he said, encouraging the graduating batch to remain connected with SPJIMR and contribute to the journeys of future cohorts.

Turning the focus to the participants, the evening featured a series of performances by the graduating cohort. Comedy sketches, dance performances and jokes followed, as participants revisited cherished memories from their time at SPJIMR. The performances reflected the strong bonds forged over shared experiences, late-night study sessions, and collaborative projects.

Joining the celebrations were Dean Varun Nagaraj, Prof. Debmallya Chatterjee, Prof. Sapna Malya, Prof. Sajeev A. George, Prof. Aditi Divatia, Prof. Jyoti Jagasia, Prof. C. Deep Prakash, Prof. Sukriti Sekhri, Prof. Sajit M. Mathews, Prof. Kapil Khandeparkar, Prof. Aishvarya, Prof. Prem Kumar Chandrani and Prof. Nachiketas Waychal. Their presence and words carried both pride in the cohorts’ achievements and confidence in the impact they would create in the future.

The farewell ceremony captured the essence of the SPJIMR experience: rigorous academics balanced with personal growth, professional development enriched by strong relationships, and a community that extends well beyond graduation.

Looking ahead, as the PGPM batch 21 embarks on its professional journeys, the SPJIMR community extends its heartfelt best wishes for their success and fulfilment. As the cohort steps into the next phase of their careers, they carry forward the values imbibed at SPJIMR, contributing responsibly and meaningfully to their organisations and society at large.
