Nachiketas Waychal holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Decision Sciences from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. His dissertation focused on developing customised algorithms for time series analysis and forecasting in real-valued and infinite dimensional spaces. His primary research interests encompass time series analysis, forecast combinations, multi-objective optimisation, user-interactive algorithms, intermittent/sporadic demand forecasting, quick and multiple change point detection, scan statistics, functional time series forecasting, and Bayes-Hilbert spaces.
Before his Ph.D., Nachiketas worked in the FMCG industry with Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and Nivea India Pvt. Ltd. in various functions including manufacturing, planning, logistics, warehousing, and modern trade & e-commerce customer service. His teaching experience includes the delivery and evaluation of courses in the domains of mathematics, statistics, supply chain management, operations management, and business analytics/R-programming across educational institutions like IIMA, NIPER-A, and JGBS. His research work has been published in journals and presented at conferences, including the Journal of the Operational Research Society (JORS), the International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF), amongst others.
