Co-creating responsible aspiration

Abstract
The TaSIC 2026 Proceedings capture the research, conversations and collaborative problem-solving that shaped the conference. They bring together the academic plenaries, interdisciplinary research, industry perspectives, practitioner Design Sprint and Wise Innovation Award ventures, offering a broader view of how TaSIC 2026 explored the aspiration paradox.
At the centre of the proceedings is a question: how can rising aspirations for access, affordability, convenience, dignity and participation be met without placing unsustainable pressure on the systems that support them?
Across research in marketing, operations, information management, finance and leadership, as well as industry and practitioner discussions, the proceedings examine how technology, markets and institutions shape responsible participation. A common thread emerges around three interdependent dimensions: normative scaffolding, activated co-creation and coordinated affordances, alongside the importance of economic conditions that enable responsible approaches to endure and scale.
The proceedings also translate these ideas into practice through the Design Sprint and Wise Innovation Award cases, highlighting three recurring approaches: redesigning defaults within existing infrastructures, treating coordination failure as a design brief, and aligning affordability and sustainability through product or business-model redesign.
Together, the proceedings offer a broader record of TaSIC 2026 and its exploration of responsible aspiration as a system design challenge, connecting academic research, industry experience and practical experimentation.
