FPM programme process

Eligibility

Applicants seeking admission to the FPM Programme must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification

• A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with First Class or equivalent Grade Point; OR
• A four-year or five-year Integrated Master’s Degree with First Class or equivalent GPA; OR
• A professional qualification such as CA, ICWA or CS with a minimum of 55% marks.

Standardised test score

• Submission of a standardised test score is optional. Applicants may submit a valid score in CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, ATMA, UGC-NET or UGC-JRF.
• The test score may be considered as an additional input in the overall evaluation process.

Work experience

Work experience is not mandatory. Both fresh graduates and experienced professionals are eligible to apply, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Application process

Applicants must complete and submit the online application form through the FPM admissions portal available on the SPJIMR website.

In addition to the application form, applicants are required to submit:

• Statement of Purpose (SOP) explaining why they wish to pursue the FPM Programme.
• Research proposal indicating and elaborating their research interests.
• Three letters of recommendation, including at least one academic recommendation.
• Relevant academic and professional documents.
• A valid CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/ATMA/UGC-NET/UGC-JRF score, if available. Submission of a standardised test score is optional.

Selection process

• The FPM selection process at SPJIMR seeks bright and motivated aspirants who demonstrate strong research potential and are a good fit with the programme.
• The process begins with reviewing the application forms, Statement of Purpose, Research proposal, academic and professional background, and other submitted information.
• The shortlisting panel considers academic qualifications, work experience, profile, motivation, research interests, recommendations, and fit with the Institute’s research profile and mission.
• Shortlisted applicants will be invited to appear for the Research Aptitude Test (RAT), followed by a Face-to-Face Personal Interview at SPJIMR’s Mumbai campus. All applicants appearing for the RAT will proceed to the Personal Interview.
• Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to the cost of the III AC train fare. Details of the travel reimbursement will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
• Provisional admission letters will be issued to the selected candidates.
