FPM programme process

FPM seeks individuals who aspire to align the relevance of research with essential rigour. Key factors considered are the applicant’s academic qualifications, work experience, profile, motivation, recommendations and fit with the institute’s research profile and its mission.

Disclaimer: Admission to the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) is strictly based on merit. SPJIMR does not have any quota, management or otherwise. The assessment of an applicant is on the basis of his/her profile, the qualifying entrance scores, and the interview process. SPJIMR communicates directly with all the shortlisted candidates. SPJIMR never appoints an intermediary (whether an individual or organisation) under any circumstance to approach any candidate with claims of confirmed admission, for a fee or otherwise. SPJIMR strongly recommends that you do not get involved in such transactions.

Note: As per the AICTE Notification (F.no. 1-101/PGRC/AICTE/Regulation/2019), all admission-related grievances will be looked into by the institute’s Grievance Redressal Committee (grc@spjimr.org) and the Ombudsperson appointed as per this notification.

Eligibility

  • A Master’s Degree / Equivalent in any discipline, with First Class or equivalent Grade Point. OR Five-year/four-year Integrated Master’s Degree in any discipline, with First Class or equivalent Grade Point Average OR A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55% marks.
  • Entrance exam CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/ATMA/UGC-NET/UGC-JRF scores are required.
  • Alternatively, the applicant may be exempted from submitting the entrance exam scores if they hold PGDM/MBA degree from the following institutions/colleges: SPJIMR, MDI, IIMs, IIT Depts. of Management, XLRI, IRMA, TISS, ISI, XIMB, FMS.
  • Candidates without work experience can apply if they have the motivation and background to pursue a rigorous research programme.
  • Candidates with significant work experience (over ten years) are also welcome as long as they have the motivation and background to pursue a rigorous research programme.

Application process

  • To apply for the FPM Programme, applicants must fill the application form on the online admissions portal available in the SPJIMR website.
  • In addition to the application form, you will be required to submit the following:
    • A valid CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/ATMA/UGC-NET/UGC-JRF score
    • A statement of purpose stating why the applicant wants to pursue the programme
    • An indication and elaboration of research interests
    • Three letters of recommendation, including at least one academic recommendation
  • The application processing fee is ₹1000/-. This fee can be paid through credit/debit card or net banking.
  • The application processing fee is non-refundable.

Selection process

  • The FPM selection process at SPJIMR encourages bright aspirants who are the right fit and are motivated to join the programme.
  • The process begins with reviewing the application forms and research proposal.
  • The shortlisting panel considers academic qualifications, work experience, profile, motivation, recommendations, and fit with the institute’s research profile and mission.
  • Shortlisted applicants will attend in-person interviews at the SPJIMR’s Mumbai campus, conducted by the institute’s distinguished panel. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to the cost of the III AC train fare. The details of travel reimbursement will be shared with the shortlisted candidates.
  • Provisional admission letters are issued to the selected candidates.
