FPM Fees

FPM full-time at SPJIMR is a fully-funded residential programme. Every scholar admitted to the full-time programme receives a stipend for the first four years of the programme. FPM part-time is a non-residential programme, and the total fee for the programme is ₹ 12 lakhs.

Admission and initial fees (full-time and part-time scholars)

Participants must pay the following fees on being granted admission to the Programme:

  • Admission fees – ₹2,000 (One time)
  • Caution money- ₹10,000 (One time, refundable)
  • Part-time scholars will pay fees as per the instalment schedule.

Stipend (full-time)

Every participant admitted as a full-time scholar receives a stipend for the first four years of the programme.

The details of the support are as follows:

  • Coursework phase: ₹40,000 per month
  • After clearing the Comprehensive Qualifying Examination (CQE): ₹42,000 per month
  • After successful thesis proposal defense: ₹45,000 per month

Additional support

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): ₹10,000 per month

This structured support ensures financial stability throughout the programme, encouraging scholars to focus on their academic and research endeavours.

Coursework phase

  • During the coursework phase, all classes and sessions will be conducted during regular classroom hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
  • Scholars (full-time or part-time) are required to be physically present on campus for all classes. Attendance is mandatory for all sessions during the coursework phase.

  • Contingency grant (full-time)

    A one-time payment of ₹70,000 will be given towards purchase of laptop. This amount can be claimed anytime during the first four years of the program.

    A contingency allowance of ₹30,000 per year from year 2 to year 4 shall be provided to cover research expenses, such as expenses on books, photocopying, subscriptions, memberships etc.

    Scholars are allowed to use the unutilised contingency grant until the 6th year from the registration date. The grant is subject to a ceiling of ₹60,000 at any given time.

  • Conference grant (all scholars)

    All scholars are eligible to attend conferences after he/she successfully completes his/her Comprehensive Qualifying Examination (CQE).

    The scholars will be allowed to attend one conference per year out of which they can attend one international conference in the entire tenure of the programme as recommended by the guide(s).

    The expenses would be based on the institute travel policy.

  • Research grants

    The institute also supports FPM scholars for their research. Examples of research grants include costs for running a lab experiment, receiving survey responses, etc. The participant can contact the FPM office for a discussion, and if feasible, the institute will extend its support. The FPM office looks into the requests on a case-by-case basis.
