  • What are the eligibility criteria for the programme?

    Applicants seeking admission to the FPM Programme must meet the following eligibility requirements:

    Educational qualification

    • A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with First Class or equivalent Grade Point; OR
    • A four-year or five-year Integrated Master’s Degree with First Class or equivalent GPA; OR
    • A professional qualification such as CA, ICWA or CS with a minimum of 55% marks.

    Standardised Test Score

    • Submission of a standardised test score is optional. Applicants may submit a valid score in CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, ATMA, UGC-NET or UGC-JRF.
    • The test score may be considered as an additional input in the overall evaluation process.

    Work experience

    • Work experience is not mandatory. Both fresh graduates and experienced professionals are eligible to apply, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria.

  • What is the programme fee?

    The FPM at SPJIMR is a fully funded residential programme. Every scholar admitted to the programme receives a stipend during the first four years of the programme.

  • Is it a residential programme?

    Yes.

    The FPM at SPJIMR is a residential programme. On-campus hostel accommodation is available for outstation scholars.

  • Is it necessary to have work experience to apply for the programme?

    No.

    Both recent graduates and professionals with significant work experience (including those with more than 10 years) are welcome to apply, provided they have the motivation and academic background to pursue a rigorous research programme. Learn more.

  • Do I need to indicate an area of specialisation while applying for the programme?

    Yes.

    You must indicate two preferred areas of specialisation in your application.

  • Can I apply for more than one specialisation?

    Yes.

    You may select two preferred areas of specialisation in your application.

  • How does opting for two specialisations benefit me?

    Applicants interested in multidisciplinary research may choose two areas of specialisation. During the selection process, the interview panel will determine which area best fits the applicant’s research interests and background. Learn more.

  • Am I allowed to change my specialisation once I join the programme?

    Yes.

    You may change your area of specialisation before finalising your seminar courses for the chosen area, subject to approval and with proper justification.

  • When does the application process begin?

    The application window for the FPM 2027 intake opens on 23 November 2026.

  • When is the last date for submitting the form?

    The application deadline for the FPM 2027 intake is 8 February 2027.

  • How do I pay my application fee?

    The application processing fee is ₹1,000 and can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. The application processing fee is non-refundable.

  • During online payment, the amount was deducted from my bank account, but the transaction ID was not generated, and I am not able to submit the form. What should I do?

    If the application fee has been deducted from your bank account but no transaction ID has been generated, and you are unable to submit your application, please write to fpm.admissions@spjimr.org.

  • Who should I contact if I have a question regarding the status of the application?

    You may raise a query through the admissions portal, and the team will respond within two working days.

  • When do I need to submit the supporting documents?

    Supporting documents should be uploaded along with your online application at the time of submission.

  • What is the selection process for the programme?

    Applications are shortlisted based on academic qualifications, profile, motivation, research interests, and overall fit with the programme. Shortlisted applicants will appear for the Research Aptitude Test (RAT), followed by a Face-to-Face Personal Interview at SPJIMR’s Mumbai campus. All applicants appearing for the RAT will proceed to the Personal Interview. The final selection is based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s overall profile.

  • Can I reschedule my interview?

    Interview dates are generally fixed. However, in case of an unforeseen emergency or exceptional circumstances, candidates may contact the FPM Admissions team at the earliest. Any request for rescheduling will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to feasibility and availability.

  • Is there any scholarship available?

    No.

    As the FPM is a fully funded programme that provides generous financial grants and a stipend, separate scholarships are not offered.

  • Is there any special housing arrangement for married students?

    No.

    The programme offers single-occupancy hostel accommodation for all FPM scholars. Separate housing arrangements for married students are not available. Explore the facilities with our virtual tour.
