LiFE programme FAQs

  • What is the LiFE programme all about?

The Ladies in Family Enterprise (LiFE) programme is designed for women from business families. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills, confidence, self-esteem and positivity needed to adopt a founder mindset, take risks and contribute meaningfully to their family businesses or build their own ventures.

  • How is the LiFE programme different from general women entrepreneurship programmes?

LiFE is designed exclusively for women from family businesses, unlike general entrepreneurship programmes that cater to women from diverse backgrounds. It helps participants to develop the management skills and entrepreneurial capabilities needed to take on functional roles within their family businesses or pursue entrepreneurial opportunities on their own.

  • Is there an option to attend the sessions online?

    Yes.

The programme is delivered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend sessions either on campus or online.

  • What is the duration of the LiFE programme?

The LiFE programme runs for four months, with two-day sessions held each month. The first three months focus on general management concepts, followed by a month dedicated to electives and the final business plan presentation.

  • What will I receive after completing the programme, and are there any post-completion benefits?

On successful completion of the programme, participants receive a certificate of completion.

Beyond the certificate, the programme enables women from business families to build a strong professional network, gain functional expertise, and develop the confidence to contribute to their family businesses or pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

  • Do we get placements after programme completion?

    No.

The LiFE programme is designed to empower women from family business backgrounds to lead, strengthen, and grow their family businesses or pursue entrepreneurship. As such, placement services are not offered.

  • Where is the campus located in Mumbai?

SPJIMR’s campus is located in Andheri West, Mumbai, close to the Western Express Highway and both the domestic and international airports. It is well connected by local trains, the Metro, BEST buses, taxis, and autorickshaws. Experience our Mumbai campus with a virtual tour.

  • What are the eligibility criteria for the programme?

Applicants should be women from a family business background. While there is no mandatory age requirement, the programme is best suited to women preferably aged 30 or older.

  • Does the programme provide hostel facilities?

    Yes.

Hostel accommodation is available, subject to availability.

  • I have completed all admission formalities for the current batch, but I will not be able to attend. Can I attend the next batch?

No. Admission cannot be deferred from one batch to another under any circumstances. As the programme is delivered primarily through intensive on-campus learning, participants are expected to join the batch for which they have enrolled and commit to completing the programme as scheduled.
