Celebrating 10 years of quizzing excellence with Grey Matter

SPJIMR’s flagship quiz competition, Grey Matter, marked its 10th edition on 10 January 2025. To celebrate a decade of quizzing excellence, the event began a month early with a weekly quiz curated for the SPJIMR community. This set the bar high for the grand finale! Grey Matter 10.0 united all quizzing enthusiasts at SPJIMR, including students, alumni, faculty and professionals. Participants travelled from across the country, highlighting the event’s significance. Our alumni joyfully returned to their alma mater, accompanied by their families and kids, to witness the experience.
Hosted by stand-up comedian and quizmaster Kumar Varun, the finale featured a dynamic mix of questions designed to challenge participants and engage the audience. Kumar’s humour and witty banter kept the atmosphere lively, making each round a blend of fun and learning. The event featured several cliffhangers, including a finale where a challenging question required two rounds of passing before the finalists solved it. The evening concluded with the felicitation of all the winners.

Organised by the students of the Admap committee at SPJIMR, Grey Matter has built an impressive legacy of intellectual exploration. What began as a modest initiative has grown into one of SPJIMR’s most anticipated annual events, celebrated for fostering critical thinking, innovation, and a spirit of excellence that reflects the institute’s core values. It consistently provides a platform for participants to challenge themselves, think on their feet, and explore uncharted territories of trivia.
