Sameer Wagle is a seasoned investor and business leader with over 26 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, and operations across India and Southeast Asia. As Managing Director at Asian Healthcare Fund (AHF), he leads early-growth stage investments across the healthcare value chain, driving the entire investment process from deal sourcing to execution, portfolio management, and exit planning. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sabka Dentist, Forus Health, and Ben Franklin.

Prior to AHF, Sameer was an Executive Director at Nomura Securities, heading the firm’s private equity division for India. He has also been a Partner at IL&FS Investment Managers, spent over five years in Singapore with Vertex Management (part of the Temasek Group), and was part of the early team at GVFL Limited, one of India’s pioneering venture capital firms. His career began in operational roles at Crompton Greaves and DGP Windsor, giving him hands-on industry experience before transitioning into investments.

Sameer is a partner at Social Venture Partners India (SVP India), a collaborative philanthropy organisation focused on engaging individuals in strategic giving. He is actively involved with the Takshashila Institution, an independent think tank focused on public policy. Earlier he also served on the Investment Committee of Aavishkaar, India’s first social venture capital firm.

An alumnus of SPJIMR, Sameer holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute, US.
