SPJIMR’s Prof. Snehal Shah joins FICCI HR Committee for 2026–28

23 October 2026

Snehal Shah, Professor and Department Chair, Organisation and Leadership Studies, has joined the FICCI HR Committee for 2026–28 as an invitee representing academia. The FICCI National HR Committee serves as the voice of Indian Industry on workforce and human capital development.

Prof. Shah’s two-year appointment creates an opportunity to bring research-led perspectives into industry deliberations on workforce transformation, evolving HR practices and the future of work, while ensuring that organisational challenges inform relevant management research.

Commenting on the appointment, Prof. Shah said: “This opportunity resonates strongly with SPJIMR’s mission to influence practice, bringing academic insights and industry experience together to shape the future of work, workforce, and leadership. It provides a platform to co-create insights that bring academic perspectives into industry conversations, while ensuring that the challenges facing organisations continue to inform meaningful research in management education.”

Bridging academic insight to HR priorities

In her advisory capacity, Prof. Shah expects to contribute to the Committee’s strategic direction, the agenda for its Annual HR Innovation Conference and deliberations on HR challenges across member organisations.

The Committee’s 2026–27 agenda includes workforce development, artificial intelligence and the future of work, alongside thought leadership and policy advocacy. As organisations navigate technological disruption, changing workforce expectations and new leadership demands, this exchange can help translate research into practical insights while bringing emerging industry challenges into academic inquiry.

Connecting research with real-world impact

The appointment aligns with SPJIMR’s commitment to engaged scholarship that informs management practice. This commitment is reflected in The Asia-Pacific Scholarly Impact Conference (TASIC), which focuses on how management research can generate meaningful impact beyond academic publications.

The connection between TASIC and Prof. Shah’s role on the FICCI HR Committee is reciprocal: industry engagement can help surface relevant questions for research, while evidence-based academic insights can inform organisational decisions and HR practices. Together, these avenues strengthen the link between research rigour and practical relevance, helping management scholarship respond to the changing needs of organisations and the wider world of work.
