Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar, Executive Director, Centre for Family Business & Entrepreneurship (CFBE) at S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), has been recognised in the ‘Family Office Mentor’ category at the Indian Family Office Thought Leaders 2026.
The recognition celebrates Prof. Jayakumar’s contribution to India’s family business and family office ecosystem, and her work in guiding family businesses and the next generation of family office leaders on issues of governance, stewardship, succession and purpose-led wealth.
Prof. Jayakumar received the Priwexus Indian Family Office Thought Leaders Award 2026–27 at the St. Regis Mumbai on 27 August. The 2026 edition marks the third consecutive year of recognising influential voices, innovative practitioners and visionary leaders within India’s family office ecosystem. More than 500 individuals and institutions across India were evaluated for the awards.
Commenting on the recognition, Prof. Jayakumar said, “It was a pleasure receiving the Priwexus Indian Family Office Thought Leaders Award 2026–27. The award is a validation of the work that I do with family businesses and encourages me to do more for this very important segment of the economy. I enjoyed meeting the other awardees who have contributed so much.”
Prof. Jayakumar was among the professionals and leaders recognised alongside Ashvini Chopra, Executive Director, Avendus Wealth Management; Nupur Pavan Bang, Founder & Chief Family Business Navigator, Bodhi Advisory & Nurturing Group (B.A.N.G); Rajesh Malpani, Chairman, Malpani Group; and Saurabh Agrawal, Chief Strategy and Investment Officer, Mafatlal Family Office, among others.
India is witnessing an unprecedented era of wealth creation and intergenerational wealth transfer. With a new billionaire emerging every three days and an estimated USD 1 trillion in assets expected to transition hands over this decade, family offices are becoming an increasingly influential part of India’s financial landscape.
The recognition underscores SPJIMR’s longstanding commitment to advancing family business education and practice and to supporting the next generation of family business leaders. Through the Centre for Family Business & Entrepreneurship and programmes such as the Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB), SPJIMR continues to create knowledge, build capabilities and foster meaningful engagement with business families, helping them navigate the complexities of growth, governance, succession and long-term value creation.
SPJIMR congratulates Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates her continued contribution to strengthening India’s family business and family office ecosystem.
