SPJIMR’s Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGPDM) welcomed its 18th batch of participants in a virtual inauguration ceremony, held on Friday, September 4, 2020. The ceremony was attended by incoming participants, SPJIMR faculty and staff.
The event kicked off with SPJIMR’s traditional lamp lighting and prayer ceremony.
Dr Ranjan Banerjee, Dean SPJIMR, addressed the online gathering and spoke about Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and its values. He also shared his insights about the leadership qualities that one must imbibe in life. His words of wisdom such as, “Let noble truths come to us from every side” and “The world is one family”, resonated with all those gathered virtually.
Prof. Prabhat Pani, Chairperson PGPDM, then gave a brief overview of the programme, painted a macro picture of the social sector in India and also touched upon the diversity of the incoming batch of students who hail from varied backgrounds.
Mr Rolvin D’Mello, PGPDM Batch 12 alumnus and Executive Director and Managing Trustee of Don Bosco Development Society, was the chief guest for the event. He shared how his experiences and learnings from the programme have served him in his career.
The event ended with the participants being given a virtual video tour of the SPJIMR campus and a wonderful virtual musical performance put together by current SPJIMR students.
