February 10, 2025

The SPJIMR Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) welcomed its 21st batch at the Mumbai campus for the 12-month on-campus residential module. The cohort began their learning journey with SPJIMR PGPM in December 2024 through the online module. Comprised of 170 students, each with an average of five years of experience, the batch brings a collective total of 850 years of knowledge and insights, enriched by the expertise of the faculty.

The inauguration began with the customary sapling plantation ceremony, a feature unique to the programme, symbolising growth and new beginnings. The guru-shishya prayer highlighted SPJIMR’s strong culture of mentorship and knowledge sharing. Prof. Renuka Kamath, Associate Dean of Full-time Programmes, congratulated the cohort on their decision to invest in their future. She encouraged them to remember two key Cs: to approach comparison with caution and never compromise on their core beliefs.

Prof. Anshul Verma, Chairperson of PGPM, commended the batch for choosing the MBA path and underscored the importance of time management, balancing academics with co-curricular activities. He urged participants to embrace continuous learning, be open to unlearning and relearning, and to stay curious. Quoting a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita — श्रद्धावान् लभते ज्ञानं तत्पर: संयतेन्द्रिय: | ज्ञानं लब्ध्वा परां शान्तिमचिरेणाधिगच्छति || — Prof. Verma emphasised, “A person with faith, dedication, and self-discipline attains true knowledge, and with that knowledge, finds supreme happiness.”

Pratik Agrawal and Surya Ramesh, participants from the outgoing PGPM batch, shared valuable insights from their transformative journeys. Pratik highlighted the importance of teamwork, networking, and maintaining a balance between academics and personal well-being. Surya discussed the rigour of the curriculum, the significance of structured placement preparation, and the vibrant campus life that fosters strong professional and personal connections.

Prof. Amol Dhaigude, Deputy Programme Chairperson of PGPM, welcomed the new batch and provided an overview of the programme. The introduction of faculty and staff reinforced the strong support system that will guide the cohort throughout their academic journey at SPJIMR, contributing to their professional success.
