Batch 32 participants of our Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB) attended Babson Build, an entrepreneurship programme offered by Babson College in Boston. Babson Build is an experiential programme designed to help participants think and act entrepreneurially built on Babson’s Entrepreneurial Thought & Action methodology. It is recognised as the top ranked entrepreneurial experience and offers immersive modules based on Family Business & Entrepreneurship such as Design Thinking, Opportunity Analysis and Market Tests, Negotiations, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Managing a Growing Business amongst others. It also includes customised modules on Diversity and Inclusion, and Leadership through Relationships. The two-week immersion programme concluded with a rocket pitch competition.
International immersions such as these help SPJIMR participants evolve as business leaders with a global mindset. SPJIMR’s Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB) is designed to groom new entrants to family businesses to enable organic growth for self and their family businesses. It helps preserve and nurture the legacy of the earlier generations and leave one’s indelible mark on the family business for years to come. Conceived and launched in 1997, the programme is the pioneer in post-graduate family-managed business programmes in India.
Not just academically but Babson Build truly provided us with a holistic perspective to our businesses. From speaking to people from all walks of life about our businesses to making friends in countries we have never been to till date, to making our newly made friends dance to bollywood music in America to learning basic greetings in multiple languages, the Babson experience truly gave us a lot of memories to cherish for life.

As a participant of SPJIMR’s PGPFMB Batch 32, I had the privilege of attending the Babson Build entrepreneurship programme. The two-week immersion exposed me to valuable insights on design thinking and opportunity analysis through the esteemed Entrepreneurial Thought & Action methodology. Diverse modules on Leadership through Relationships and Diversity & Inclusion broadened my perspectives. The rocket pitch competition was a thrilling highlight. This international experience instilled in me the confidence to embrace entrepreneurship and a global outlook. Grateful to SPJIMR for this life-changing opportunity.
