Family Business and Entrepreneurship Research Presentation Series with Dr. Miruna Radu-Lefebvre
24 June 2026
The latest session of Family Business and Entrepreneurship Research Presentation Series featured Dr. Miruna Radu-Lefebvre, Professor of Entrepreneurship and the Family Entrepreneurship & Society Chair at Audencia Business School, France, and Editor-in-Chief of Entrepreneurship & Regional Development.
In her presentation, ‘Conceptualizing and Researching Legacy Through a Social Constructivist Lens’, Dr. Radu-Lefebvre redefined how we understand the concept of legacy in family firms. Moving beyond the view of legacy as a static inheritance, her research frames it as a dynamic process of co-construction in which family members continuously interpret and reshape values, knowledge, and beliefs across generations.
A key insight was that legacy is a living social construct. Rather than a fixed set of historical assets, it is an evolving narrative that deeply influences a firm’s identity and succession. By exploring legacy through this lens, family businesses can better understand how to sustain their core values and beliefs while adapting to the shifting perspectives of each new generation.
The session sparked discussion at the intersection of legacy, identity, and succession, opening exciting avenues for future research in the field.
At CFBE, we remain committed to bringing cutting-edge global research to our community. Stay tuned for upcoming Research Presentation sessions as we continue exploring the dynamic world of family business and entrepreneurship.
