SPJIMR’s Development of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC) hosted Aasra 2024, the annual sports and cultural event aimed at promoting and supporting inclusive sensibilities. 200 persons with disabilities (PwDs), 40 senior citizens, their caregivers and teachers from over 15 partner organisations, and hundred student volunteers from SPJIMR came together to make Aasra 2024 a memorable event. The participants enthusiastically engaged in the carefully curated games and fun activities conducted by the students of DoCC and the Sustainability Committee (DoSu).

The heart-warming responses, captivating performances, and infectious excitement underscored the aim of Aasra: to build and support inclusive sensibilities by embracing all people, irrespective of background, gender, disability, medical or other needs, and providing them with equal access and opportunities. Aasra, meaning ‘support’, reflects SPJIMR’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society. Organised annually, the event welcomes participation from NGOs and schools supporting PwDs, and senior citizens across Mumbai.
