The IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appointed Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar, Executive Director, Centre for Family Business and Entrepreneurship (CFBE) at SPJIMR, as Chair of its Knowledge and Education Committee for 2026–27. She has also been co-opted to the IMC Managing Committee for the year.
Prof. Jayakumar first joined the Chamber’s Knowledge (Skill and Education) Committee in 2024–25, in recognition of her contributions to education, entrepreneurship, family business, and institution-building. Her appointment as Chair reflects the growing importance of knowledge-led leadership and the value of sustained engagement between academia, industry, and public institutions.
Aligned with IMC’s 2026–27 theme, ‘Catalysing Future Ready Businesses for Viksit Bharat’, Prof. Jayakumar will lead the Committee’s efforts to foster collaboration across industry, government, and civil society. The committee will drive knowledge creation through thought papers, research studies, surveys, and policy inputs that contribute to building future-ready businesses and institutions.
Commenting on the appointment, Prof. Jayakumar said, “The opportunities and challenges facing businesses today require deeper collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. I look forward to contributing to IMC’s vision of catalysing future-ready businesses and institutions for a Viksit Bharat.”
The appointment reflects the growing role of management institutions in contributing beyond the classroom, bringing research, practice and policy together to address complex societal and business challenges.
At SPJIMR, this aligns with the institute’s commitment to advancing wise innovation and creating knowledge that is relevant, responsible, and actionable. Through collaborations with industry bodies such as IMC, SPJIMR continues to strengthen its contribution to influencing managerial practice, informing public discourse, and developing leaders capable of creating sustainable impact for business and society.
