Business Intelligence and Analytics
Overview
Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) helps you take better business decisions based on data. Executives weigh several factors when they decide: domain knowledge, experience, insights, gut feeling and imagination. Data gives them an additional advantage and helps them decide better. Although BIA can automate decisions, this course focuses on the decision aid system: BIA supports the executive, and the executive makes the final decision.
Decisions based on BIA give a business a competitive advantage, and BIA is fast becoming a differentiating factor. It is useful in every function: marketing, finance, human resources (HR), operations and information technology (IT). BIA is also one of the fastest-growing areas, with a large number of rewarding and challenging opportunities in core BIA roles. Even more opportunities exist in any function — marketing, finance, operations, HR and IT — that uses BIA.
