SPJIMR welcomed PGEMP batch 107

May 13, 2026

SPJIMR inaugurated the 107th batch of its Post Graduate Executive Management Programme (PGEMP), which marks its 25th year in 2026. The new cohort comprised mid- to senior-level professionals from leading organisations, including Larsen & Toubro, BPCL, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Elekta Medical Systems India Pvt. Ltd. With an average work experience of more than 10 years, the cohort brought diverse industry perspectives and professional expertise, creating a strong foundation for peer-to-peer learning, collaborative problem-solving, and leadership development.

Mr. Deepak Ahluwalia, Senior General Manager, Human Resources at Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd., attended the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. Prof. Preeta George, Associate Dean, Executive Education, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of continuous learning in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Prof. Shabbir Husain R. V., Chairperson, PGEMP, and Prof. Subir Rao, Deputy Programme Chairperson, PGEMP, presented an overview of the programme structure, pedagogy, academic framework, and faculty.

Mr. Deepak Ahluwalia, Senior General Manager, Human Resources at Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd., attended the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest and addressed the incoming cohort. He emphasised that being part of PGEMP’s 25th-year batch made the experience especially significant and encouraged participants to make the most of their learning journey. He urged participants to approach the programme with curiosity, openness, and a willingness to grow beyond their existing professional boundaries. He structured his address around the foundational principles of the three Cs:

Capitalise on the investment

Mr. Ahluwalia encouraged participants to engage actively in classroom discussions, ask questions, and remain intellectually curious throughout the programme. He highlighted the importance of applying acquired knowledge in professional contexts to create a meaningful impact.

“Capitalise on this investment by participating actively, by asking questions, by being curious. You acquire knowledge, you process it, and you apply it.”

Embrace continuous learning

Highlighting the importance of adaptability in leadership, he emphasised the need to unlearn outdated practices and remain open to new perspectives.

“Continuous learning is very, very important. You will have to unlearn some of the things that you already know and be like a child — always asking questions to learn, unlearn and relearn.”

Build meaningful connections

Mr. Ahluwalia also encouraged participants to build strong professional relationships with peers from diverse industries and functions, stressing the long-term value of collaboration and professional networks.

“You are all from different organisations. It’s a very diverse group. It’s time to build connections by reaching out and offering a helping hand.”

The inauguration ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative learning journey for the new cohort as they prepared to strengthen their leadership capabilities, broaden their strategic outlook, and build enduring professional networks through the PGEMP experience.
