Ajay Mahajan

Ajay Mahajan, an alumnus of FMS and BITS Pilani and a CFA Charterholder, boasts over three decades of experience in the BFSI sector. He has made significant contributions to various turnaround stories, from leading CARE Ratings Ltd through a major metamorphosis to the transformation of IDFC First Bank from a DFI to a Universal Bank. Ajay initiated his career at Bank of America and subsequently joined esteemed institutions in India, including co-building Yes Bank as a pure play greenfield bank story in early 2000s and UBS, a fine Swiss banking institution. With a seven-year tenure at IDFC Bank, he assumed the role of Group Executive President- Country Head- Wholesale Banking. Presently, he co-founded Finlabs India Private Limited and holds the position of Managing Partner at R-Square. Ajay has over 30 years of experience in managing and growing businesses across Lending, Payments, Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC), along with advising and investing in NBFCs and tech startups.”
