  • What is the PGPM programme?

    The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) is an 18-month, full-time programme designed for professionals with at least three years of work experience and strong domain expertise who are looking to transition into broader general management roles.

    The programme comprises:

    • 2 months of online learning
    • 12 months of on-campus residential learning
    • 4 months of Industry and International Immersion

    The programme equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities required to take on larger organisational responsibilities.

  • What is the diploma awarded at graduation?

    On successful completion of the programme, participants are awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Business Administration (PGDM – Business Administration).

  • What are the accreditations and approvals for the PGPM?

    The PGPM is:

    • Accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), UK
    • Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

  • What does the PGPM programme prepare you for?

    The PGPM programme prepares experienced professionals to lead larger teams and take on broader business responsibilities.

    Participants typically transition from specialised functional roles to techno-functional, business leadership, and general management roles by developing:

    • A broader management perspective
    • Cross-functional business knowledge
    • Leadership and decision-making capabilities
    • Strategic thinking skills

    Many of the participants come from core technical backgrounds and use the programme to accelerate their career progression into leadership positions.

  • What is International Immersion, and is it included in the curriculum?

    Yes. The International Immersion is an integral part of the PGPM curriculum.

    The three-week immersion enables participants to attend academic sessions at leading global business schools, delivered by faculty from the host institution. In addition to classroom learning, participants undertake industry projects and company visits to gain first-hand exposure to global business practices.

    The programme fee includes the International Immersion component.

    While SPJIMR provides guidance and support with the visa process, obtaining the visa remains the individual responsibility of each participant.

  • What is the Restart initiative?

    The Restart initiative is a pathway designed for women who have taken a career break and are looking to re-enter the corporate workforce in managerial and leadership roles. The initiative provides an immersive, on-campus bridging module tailored to the unique needs of returning women. After completing the bridging module, the participants join the PGPM cohort.

  • Who is eligible to apply to the Restart initiative?

    Women professionals on a career break who meet the following criteria are eligible for PGPM’s Restart initiative.

    • Minimum three years of full-time work experience.
    • Minimum two years of current career break.
    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university.
    • Valid GMAT/CAT score.

  • What are the eligibility criteria to apply for the PGPM programme?

    Applicants must:

    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a recognised university.
    • Have a minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience at the time the programme commences.

    The programme accepts:

    • CAT
    • GMAT
    • GMAT Focus Edition (for PGPM Batch 23)

    The following entrance examination scores are accepted:

    • GMAT: Tests taken between September 30, 2021 and September 30, 2026, or
    • CAT: Scores from 2023, 2024, and 2025

    Official GMAT (Online/Offline/Focus) scores must be submitted through the GMAC portal using:

    • PGPM programme code: 6DQ-MJ-12, or
    • S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research – Post Graduate Programme in Management
    • GMAT scores can be submitted until September 30, 2026.

  • Which scores does the programme accept?

    The programme accepts:

    • CAT
    • GMAT
    • GMAT Focus Edition

    Accepted scores are:

    • GMAT: Tests taken between September 30, 2021, and September 30, 2026, or
    • CAT: Scores from 2023, 2024 and 2025

  • When does the application process for the PGPM programme begin?

    The application process generally opens in April and closes in October each year.

  • How do I pay my application fees?

    The application processing fee is ₹3,000.

    The fee must be paid while submitting the online application form.

    Payment can be made using:

    • Net banking
    • Debit Card
    • Credit Card

  • What documents are required while filling out the application form?

    Applicants must provide documents supporting both their academic qualifications and work experience.

    For salaried professionals, acceptable work experience documents include:

    • Offer letters
    • Salary slips
    • Experience letters

    Applicants who have worked with multiple organisations should provide supporting documents for each organisation.

    Entrepreneurs and business owners should submit appropriate proof of their professional experience, such as:

    • Income Tax returns
    • Certificates of Incorporation
    • Business Registration Certificate
    • Other relevant business documents

    Academic documents specified in the eligibility criteria must also be submitted.

  • Do I need to submit a resume or a letter of recommendation with my application form?

    No.

    A resume and letters of recommendation are not required at the application stage.

  • How do I submit my GMAT score?

    Official GMAT scores must be submitted through the GMAC portal.

  • I plan to take the GMAT at a later date. Can I complete my application now and submit my GMAT scores later?

    Yes.

    You may complete and submit your application before taking the GMAT.

    Applicants may be shortlisted and invited for interviews before submitting their GMAT scores. However, a final admission decision will be made only after the official GMAT score has been submitted.

    GMAT scores must be submitted by the end of September.

  • What is the interview process in brief?

    The interview process includes:

    • Two rounds of personal and/or group interviews

  • What facilities are available on campus for the PGPM programme?

    The SPJIMR campus provides a fully residential learning environment supported by modern academic and recreational facilities.

    Participants have access to:

    • Wi-fi-enabled campus
    • Technology-enabled classrooms
    • Air-conditioned hostel accommodation
    • Library and Reading Room
    • Dining facilities
    • Recreation Centre with a fully equipped gymnasium
    • Outdoor sports facilities
    • Medical support, including an on-call doctor, on-campus medical assistance and emergency ambulance services

  • Is there any special housing arrangement for married students?

    No.

    SPJIMR provides shared hostel accommodation for participants for the duration of the programme.

    Residential stay on campus is mandatory, and separate accommodation for married participants is not available.

  • Does the programme provide placement services?

    Yes.

    The PGPM programme has a dedicated Career Services team that supports participants throughout the placement process.

    The team provides:

    • Career guidance
    • Placement preparation
    • Recruiter engagement
    • Campus placement support

    Placement activities typically begin in September and continue until December.

  • Is placement service also provided to students who have enrolled while on sabbatical?

    Yes.

    Participants who join the programme while on sabbatical are also eligible to receive placement support.

  • How do I get financial aid?

    Several banks offer education loans based on the admission offer issued by SPJIMR.

    Some partner banks also provide loan schemes for SPJIMR participants without requiring collateral or a guarantor, subject to their eligibility criteria.
