Programme fee

FPM at SPJIMR is a fully-funded programme. Every scholar admitted to the programme receives a 100 per cent scholarship for the entire duration of their FPM journey.

Apart from this, to enable the participants to take care of their essential needs during their research journey, SPJIMR will also provide a monthly stipend. Participants in good conduct and faith will receive a stipend for the program’s first four years. The details of the stipend at present are as follows:

  • During the coursework phase: INR 40,000 per month.
  • Post clearing the qualifying exam: INR 42,000 per month.
  • Post successful defence of proposal: INR 45,000 per month.

Financial assistance and scholarship

In addition to the monthly stipend, FPM offers a variety of appropriate grants to support scholars in their research journey.

  • Contingency Grant

    Contingency grants help the scholars to access the necessary equipment and facilities for research. In the first year, the participant receive a hardware contingency grant of INR 40,000 towards purchasing necessary hardware (laptop). In addition, all FPM participants are eligible for a contingency grant of INR 25,000 per year for the first four years of the programme. Participants can purchase software, books, stationeries, hardware etc., as per their needs. The amount is reimbursed after verification of the submitted bills.

  • Conference Grant

    Towards achieving its goal of excellence in research, SPJIMR encourages FPM scholars to participate in various national and international conferences in their domain of interest. they are entitled to get grants for attending and presenting at international & domestic conferences after successful completion of comprehensive qualifying exams.

    a) A total grant of INR 2,30,000 is allotted to each participant for participating in domestic and international conference. Scholars can utilize the total amount for the conference for their research work in domestic & international conference as per their requirement.

    b) Scholars are allowed to use the unutilized conference grant even after completing 5 years of programme tenure during the extension period. This is subject to due approvals from their guide/advisor and the FPM office.

  • Research Grants

    Over and above the grants mentioned earlier, the institute will support candidates as required for their research. Examples of research grants include costs for running a lab experiment, receiving survey responses, etc. The participant can contact the FPM office for a discussion and if feasible, the institute will extend its support. The FPM office looks into the requests on a case-by-case basis.
