SPJIMR Development of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC) welcomed students from EDHEC Business School, France, as they embarked on their Global Impact Project in India. Global Impact Project (GIP) is an initiative that brings EDHEC students into direct engagement with India’s complex social fabric.
Sonia Gastaud, Head of International Relations, EDHEC; Philippe Maurin, Attaché for Scientific and Academic Cooperation, Consulate General of France in Mumbai and Nilesh Shobha Vithal Gaikwad, Country Manager – India, EDHEC participated in the inauguration ceremony for the 2025 GIP cohort alongside Prof. Chandrika Parmar, Director, SPJIMR DoCC.
Prof. Parmar, in her welcome, invited students to meet the unknown and the unexpected not with certainty but with curiosity—to “break assumptions, hold space for discomfort, and listen deeply to the field.” She urged them to open their senses to the textures and contradictions of India, not just observing change but becoming part of it.
Sonia Gastaud dwelled on the GIP programme, reflecting on the spirit of warmth and resilience in India, encouraging students to embrace the journey with openness. Philippe Maurin emphasised the importance of such global collaborations in nurturing socially responsible leadership and cross-cultural understanding.
Over the coming months, EDHEC students will work alongside grassroots organisations across India, addressing critical issues such as water conservation, women’s empowerment, education, and animal welfare. We wish the cohort the very best as they step into this field-learning journey.
