Honouring achievement, inspiring futures
SPJIMR Annual Convocation 2026 marked a defining milestone for over 1,000 graduates across the Institute’s diverse programmes. Across two sessions, the ceremony brought together graduates, faculty, industry leaders, alumni, friends, and families to celebrate the Class of 2026 as they joined SPJIMR’s 18,000+ global alumni community.
The ceremonies were held in the presence of Chairman Deepak Parekh. The morning session featured Chief Guest Zarin Daruwala, Group CEO of PL Capital (Prabhudas Lilladher), Former Cluster CEO, India and South Asia, at Standard Chartered Bank, and SPJIMR Governing Council Member, while the evening session featured Chief Guest Debjani Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow at NITI Aayog, Former President of NASSCOM and notably SPJIMR PGDM 1983 alumna.
Addressing the graduating cohorts, Dean Varun Nagaraj encouraged participants to pursue meaningful impact alongside professional success and reminded them to always value the communities that supported their journeys.
In her address during the morning session, Daruwala encouraged graduates to embrace change and remain adaptable in an evolving global environment and advised, “You can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails to reach your destination,” she said.
Speaking at the evening session, Debjani Ghosh emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and human connections, in an increasingly technology-driven world. Encouraging graduates to lead with purpose and authenticity, she said, “Leadership is not a designation; it is your integrity, your relationships, and the impact you create. Find your North Star. PGDM and PGDM (BM)
A total of 357 participants graduated this year across the PGDM and PGDM (BM) programmes. Participants also excelled across leading national and international competitions, including the St Gallen Symposium, SBI Ideation, Capgemini Elite, ITC Interrobang, HUL LIME, and L’Oréal Brandstorm.
PGPM (Batch 21)
The PGPM cohort comprised 164 participants. This year marked a significant milestone as the programme entered the Financial Times Global Top 100 MBA rankings for the first time, joining a select group of Indian business schools recognised globally.
The batch distinguished itself through leadership in industry-academia initiatives, global competitions, and collaborative research, becoming the first cohort in programme history to co-author a double-digit number of case studies with faculty for leading global journals and case houses.
Across both ceremonies, participants were recognised for outstanding academic excellence and contributions beyond the classroom through scholastic awards. The convocation ceremony concluded with the formal conferring of diplomas. Amid applause, celebrations, and the ceremonial tossing of the graduation hats, the Class of 2026 bid farewell to campus life. As they embark on their next chapter, the entire SPJIMR community wishes them success, purpose, and the confidence to lead with integrity wherever their journeys take them.
