PGPGM is an AICTE-approved 2-year diploma programme for working professionals. With sessions conducted every alternate weekend, it is specially designed for executives with five or more years of work experience who cannot take a career break for further studies. Participants are awarded the AICTE-approved diploma, ‘PGDM- Executive Management Programme’, on completing the programme successfully. For NCR participants, weekend sessions will be held at the Delhi Campus, with an immersion in the Mumbai Campus. Weekend sessions will be held for Maharashtra participants at the Mumbai campus. Candidates from other states can apply to any of these campuses.

  • Does SPJIMR have an Executive MBA programme?

    For those who wish to pursue a 2-year Executive MBA while working, SPJIMR offers a weekend executive programme called the Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGPGM). PGPGM is an AICTE-approved programme with on-campus sessions on alternate weekends. Participants can choose to attend sessions at the Mumbai campus or the Delhi campus. This programme is designed for mid-senior level executives who wish to upskill and move to leadership roles. Minimum work experience required is 4 years, and average work experience is 9 years.

  • What are the eligibility criteria for PGPGM?

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline is required with a minimum of 50% marks in graduation
    • A minimum of 4 years of work experience after graduation is necessary
  • What is the fee for the programme?

    Fee for PGPGM is ₹ 9.5 lakhs for two years, payable in 4 instalments.

  • Will we get alumni status?

    Yes. PGPGM participants get alumni status on successful completion of the programme.

  • Is there a preferred range of years of experience for ideal participants?

    A minimum of 4 years of work experience after graduation is required to apply for PGPGM. The range of work experience of PGPGM participants is generally between 4 years and 18 years.

  • What type of certificate will we get?

  • What will be the class composition?

    PGPGM batch has mid-senior level participants from a diverse range of roles and industries, including consulting, BFSI, consumer goods, automobiles, IT/ITES, energy, among others. Work experience ranges from 4 years to 18 years, with more than 20% of the batch having a work experience greater than 12 years.

  • What are application exercises?

    Application exercises are assignments where the concepts studied in class are applied to a real-life situation in the organisation that a participant represents. Application exercises reinforce the learnings garnered in class and enable a participant to understand his / her organisation much better. A few examples of application exercises:

    In Finance — analyse the balance sheet and profit and loss statement of your company for the past 5 years; calculate liquidity ratios, profitability ratios, capital structure ratios and write a report on the financial health of the company.

    In Marketing — list the product categories and lines of your company and segregate the product lines based on growth, maturity and decline in potential; identify the rationale for continuing each product line. Would you add/ delete any product item(s) from the existing product line?

  • What is the evaluation process?

    Evaluation is a continuous process both on-campus and off-campus. On-campus evaluation includes case-work, quizzes, and exams. Off-campus evaluation is in the form of conceptual and application assignments.

  • Where will the sessions be conducted?

    On-campus sessions are conducted on alternate weekends. For participants in and around NCR, sessions are held at the SPJIMR Delhi campus and for participants around Maharashtra, sessions are held at the SPJIMR Mumbai campus.

  • Is there any specialisation offered in PGPGM?

    PGPGM is aimed at preparing working executives for leadership roles for which a general management perspective is important. Key aspects of all functional skills and concepts are covered, and participants can also choose 3 elective courses from the offered options. In addition, the capstone project also offers an opportunity to study a specialised area in depth.

  • Can Executive MBA aspirants apply to the PGPGM programme?

    Participants who wish to pursue an Executive MBA (EMBA) without taking a career break can apply for SPJIMR’s PGPGM programme. Participants are awarded the AICTE-approved diploma, ‘PGDM – Executive Management Programme’, on successfully completing the PGPGM programme. It is ideal for professionals who may have considered an Executive MBA but want more flexibility, affordability, or industry-relevant pedagogy, seeking leadership roles.

  • How to apply for the PGPGM programme at SPJIMR?

    Participants can apply through the link available on the SPJIMR website. The application form needs to be filled out and submitted online along with the specified documents.

    • Application fee of ₹1500/- (INR One thousand five hundred only) to be paid online.
    • Applicants will be informed through email about the date of the selection process by the PGPGM office.

    The focus of the selection process will be on the following:

    • Interview and work experience profile
    • Case analysis
    • Admission test
    • Academic record
  • What are the documents required for the application? Do I need any documents to apply?

    You would need to submit proofs of identity, academic qualifications and work experience.

    • Proof of work experience—documents indicating the duration of period worked in each organisation are required. True copies attested by a gazetted officer/self-attested should be submitted with the application. These can include an experience certificate or a combination of relieving letters, appointment/promotion letters/ salary statements.
    • Proof of academic qualifications — true copies attested by a gazetted officer/self-attested mark sheets, and passing certificates of X, XII, graduation, post-graduation, etc.
    • A valid score sheet for any one of the listed admission tests. If the test has not yet been taken, the date and registration for the test need to be provided. Test scores of CAT/MAT /GMAT / ATMA/CMAT/XAT from over the last three years are acceptable. For GMAT, test scores from the last five years would be acceptable.

  • What is the selection process? Do I have to prepare for the same?

    Selection process

    The purpose of the admission process is to understand the ‘starting point’ of the skills and traits of a student before entering the course.

    Our selection process lays emphasis on the applicant’s work experience, managerial aptitude, as well as maturity, values and achievements. Applicants need to ensure that they will be able to put in the time and effort required for this programme.

    The selection process comprises the following:

    • Admission test
    • Case analysis
    • Personal interview

    The best advice we can give is that the candidate should be his/her usual ‘himself’ or ‘herself’. In general, one does not need to prepare for the interview. You may refresh your memory on key aspects of your work experience journey.

    Personal interview

    Interviews of eligible candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis. The interview style is mostly conversational. In general, one does not need to prepare for the interview. You may brush up on your communication skills and key points that you may like to highlight pertaining to your work experience.

    Case analysis

    In addition to the interview, the participants will undergo a short case analysis round.

  • When will the results of the selection be announced?

    Interviews of eligible candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis. Applicants will be informed through email about the date of the selection process and the results.

  • What is the qualification that I will earn after successfully completing the programme?

    The successful participants will be awarded the AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)—Executive Management Programme.

  • What are the timelines for the next batch?

    The next batch of PGPGM will commence in August/September 2026.

    Applications are open. Key dates are as follows:

    Final offer: July 2026 onwards

    Batch commencement date: September 2026

  • How do I get a loan?

    We recommend that you take an education loan from any public or private sector bank that you are comfortable with. In the past, participants have availed loans from Bank of Baroda, SBI, ICICI, Axis Bank, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India and PNB, among others.

  • Is there any scholarship available?

    No, since this programme is for working executives, we don’t offer a scholarship. However, most participants are able to secure bank loans for this programme.

  • Is there any special housing arrangement for married students?

    No, currently we do not offer campus residence for participants of this programme.

  • Is there campus accommodation offered?

    Since this is a weekend programme, we do not offer residence or accommodation on campus.

    However, for outstation participants wishing to attend classes at the Mumbai campus, hostel rooms may be provided on weekends on a twin-sharing basis, subject to availability.
