PGPGM is a 2-year AICTE-approved diploma programme for working professionals. With sessions conducted every alternate weekend, it is specially designed for executives with four or more years of work experience who cannot take a career break for further studies. Participants are awarded the AICTE-approved diploma, ‘PGDM- Executive Management Programme’, on completing the programme successfully. For NCR participants, weekend sessions will be held at the Delhi Campus, with an immersion in the Mumbai Campus. Weekend sessions will be held for participants from Maharashtra at the Mumbai campus. Candidates from other states are eligible to apply to any of these campuses.

  • What is the value of the programme?

  • Does SPJIMR have an Executive MBA programme?

    For those who wish to pursue a 2-year Executive MBA while working, SPJIMR offers a weekend executive programme called the Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGPGM). PGPGM is an AICTE-approved programme with on-campus sessions on alternate weekends. Participants can choose to attend sessions at the Mumbai campus or the Delhi campus. This programme is designed for mid-senior level executives who wish to upskill and move to leadership roles. Minimum work experience required is 4 years, and average work experience in the batch is 9+ years.

  • What are the eligibility criteria for PGPGM?

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline is required with a minimum of 50% marks in graduation
    • A minimum of 4 years of work experience after graduation is necessary
  • What is the fee for the programme?

    Fee for PGPGM is ₹ 9.5 lakhs for two years, payable in 4 instalments.

  • Will we get alumni status?

    Yes. PGPGM participants get alumni status on successful completion of the programme.

  • Is there a preferred range of years of experience for ideal participants?

    A minimum of 4 years of work experience after graduation is required to apply for PGPGM. The range of work experience of PGPGM participants is generally between 4 years and 18 years.

  • What type of certificate will we get?

  • How does the PGPGM programme add value?

  • What will be the class composition?

    PGPGM batch has mid-senior level participants from a diverse range of roles and industries, including consulting, BFSI, consulting, consumer goods, automobiles, IT/ITES, energy, among others. Work experience ranges from 4 years to 18 years, with average work experience in the batch being 9+ years.

  • What are application exercises?

    Application exercises are assignments where the concepts studied in class are applied to a real-life situation in the organisation that a participant represents. Application exercises reinforce the learnings garnered in class and enable a participant to better understand their organisation’s decision making.

  • What is the evaluation process?

    Evaluation is a continuous process both on-campus and off-campus. On-campus evaluation includes case-work, quizzes, and exams. Off-campus evaluation is in the form of conceptual and application assignments.

  • Where will the sessions be conducted?

    On-campus sessions are conducted on alternate weekends. For participants in and around NCR, sessions are held at the SPJIMR Delhi campus and for participants around Maharashtra, sessions are held at the SPJIMR Mumbai campus.

  • Is there any specialisation offered in PGPGM?

    PGPGM is aimed at preparing working executives for leadership roles for which a general management perspective is important. Key aspects of all functional skills and concepts are covered, and participants can also choose 3 elective courses from the offered options. In addition, the capstone project also offers an opportunity to study a specialised area in depth.

  • What is the difference between an Executive MBA degree and SPJIMR’s Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGPGM)?

    Successful completion of PGPGM leads to the award of PGDM- Executive Management Programmme, in line with AICTE guidelines. PGDM stands for Post graduate Diploma in Management.

    Both MBA and PGDM are recognized qualifications approved by the Government and accepted by Industry who wish to hire MBA graduates. The difference in the nomenclature- MBA vs PGDM arises due to difference in the approving authority. Universities which grant MBA are governed by UGC while autonomous Institutions like SPJIMR, are governed by AICTE and offer programmes under the PGDM nomenclature.

  • How does SPJIMR’s PGPGM compare to IIMs’ Executive MBA programmes (PGPX/EPGP)?

    The key differentiation lies in the duration and the format. PGPGM is a part-time, weekend programme with application-oriented pedagogy. The weekend format enables participants to complete the programme without taking a career break. It also facilitates better learning as participants are able to apply concepts learnt on a real time basis. However PGPX offered by IIMs is generally a full time programme with a 1-year duration and requires working executives to take a career break.

  • Should Executive MBA aspirants apply to the PGPGM programme?

    Participants who wish to pursue an Executive MBA (EMBA) without taking a career break can apply for SPJIMR’s PGPGM programme. Participants are awarded the AICTE-approved diploma, ‘PGDM – Executive Management Programme’, on successfully completing the PGPGM programme. It is ideal for professionals who wish to do an Executive MBA with flexibility and industry-relevant pedagogy.

  • How to apply for the PGPGM programme at SPJIMR?

    Participants can apply through the link available on the SPJIMR website. The application form needs to be filled out and submitted online along with the specified documents.

    • Application fee of ₹1500/- (INR One thousand five hundred only) to be paid online.
    • Applicants will be informed through email about the date of the selection process by the PGPGM office.
    • The focus of the selection process will be on the following:
      • Interview and work experience profile
      • Case analysis
      • Admission test
      • Academic record
  • What are the documents required for the application? Do I need any documents to apply?

    You would need to submit proofs of identity, academic qualifications and work experience.

    • A valid score sheet for any one of the listed admission tests. If the test has not yet been taken, the date and registration for the test need to be provided. Test scores of CAT/MAT /GMAT / ATMA/CMAT/XAT from over the last three years are acceptable. For GMAT, test scores from the last five years would be acceptable.

  • What is the selection process? Do I have to prepare for the same?

    Our selection process lays emphasis on the applicant’s work experience, managerial aptitude, as well as maturity, values and achievements. Applicants need to ensure that they will be able to put in the time and effort required for this programme.

    The selection process comprises the following:

    • Admission test
    • Case analysis
    • Personal interview

    The best advice we can give is that the candidate should be their usual ‘self. In general, one does not need to prepare for the interview. You may refresh your memory on key aspects of your work experience journey.

    Personal interview

    Interviews of eligible candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis. The interview style is mostly conversational. In general, one does not need to prepare for the interview. You may brush up on your communication skills and key points that you may like to highlight pertaining to your work experience.

    Case analysis

    In addition to the interview, the participants will undergo a short case analysis round.

  • When will the results of the selection be announced?

    Interviews of eligible candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis. Applicants will be informed through email about the date of the selection process and the results.

  • What is the qualification that I will earn after successfully completing the programme?

    The successful participants will be awarded the AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)—Executive Management Programme.

  • What are the timelines for the next batch?

    • Round 1 – Interview process on February 14, 2026 (Saturday). Last date to apply: February 8, 2026 (Sunday)
    • Round 2 – Interview process on April 11, 2026 (Saturday). Last date to apply: April 5, 2026 (Sunday)
    • Round 3 – Interview process on June 13, 2026 (Saturday). Last date to apply: June 7, 2026 (Sunday)
    • Round 4 – Interview process on July 18, 2026 (Saturday). Last date to apply: July 12, 2026 (Sunday)
  • How do I get a loan?

    We recommend that you take an education loan from any public or private sector bank that you are comfortable with. In the past, participants have availed loans from Bank of Baroda, SBI, ICICI, Axis Bank, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India and PNB, among others.

  • Is there any scholarship available?

    No, since this programme is for working executives, we don’t offer a scholarship. However, most participants are able to secure bank loans for this programme.

  • Is there campus accommodation offered?

    Since this is a weekend programme, we do not offer residence or accommodation on campus.

    However, for outstation participants wishing to attend classes at the Mumbai campus, hostel rooms may be provided on weekends on a twin-sharing basis, subject to availability.

  • SPJIMR offers 13-month, 21-month, and 24-month programmes for working executives. What are the differences, and how do I decide which is right for me?

    Each programme is designed to cater to specific career stages and goals. It’s essential to assess your current professional standing, career aspirations, your preferred location and the time commitment you’re willing to make to select the programme that aligns best with your professional goals.

    Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGPGM)

    • Duration: 24 months (weekend format)
    • Format: On-campus sessions on alternate weekends, followed by application assignments on intervening weekends
    • Ideal for: Mid to senior-level working executives with 4+ years of work experience seeking an Executive MBA without taking a career break.

    • Duration: 21 months (contact-based)
    • Format: Modular (5 cohorts per year)

    Post Graduate Programme in Marketing & Business Management (PGPMBM)

    • Duration: 13 months
    • Format: Full-time (blended)

  • Do senior professors who teach the flagship PGDM also teach in the PGPGM? Do regular faculty teach in this programme or visit?

    Yes, the accomplished faculty members who teach the PGDM programme also teach in PGPGM. Faculty teaching in PGPGM bring their extensive industry experience into the classroom. Accomplished visiting practitioners from the industry are also invited to bring participants up to date with industry trends and best practices.

  • What type of industry connect is offered in this programme?

    Senior industry leaders are invited regularly for thought leadership sessions and talks on contemporary management practices. In addition participants work alongside industry mentors for their capstone project.

  • What kind of career growth, promotions, or role transitions can I realistically expect?

    More than 80% of our participants have advanced to higher roles within one year of completing the PGPGM. Some participants move to higher roles within their own organisation, while others move to better opportunities in different organisations. To share a few examples –Adit Pandita working as Product Manager at a consumer good company at the time of joining the programme moved to a position of VP, Consulting in one of the leading consultancy firms, Om Dutt Vashisth moved from a position of Manager Sourcing & Supply Chain in his previous company to VP-Strategic Sourcing & SCM, Karan Arora moved from Manager Planning and Control to VP-Strategic Sourcing and SCM.

  • Does the programme include international immersion, global study tours, or partnerships with foreign universities? Which university and country?

    PGPGM offers a one to two-week international immersion module as an option to our participants. In 2025, the participants who opted for international immersion visited INSEAD in France for two weeks.

  • Is there any special housing arrangement for married students?

    No, currently we do not offer campus residence for participants of this programme.
