The virtual inauguration of SPJIMR’s GMP Batch 13 (January intake) took place on the morning of January 25th. In attendance were the incoming batch of students, SPJIMR faculty, staff members and alumni. The batch comprises of 17 students who will complete the GMP programme in 6 months and then join partner schools – EBS, Frankfurt, Brandeis International Business School, Boston or Stevens School of Business, New Jersey to complete their studies.
Following the lighting of the lamp, Prof. Vineeta Dwivedi gave a short introduction to SPJIMR and took the batch on a virtual campus tour. Dean Dr. Ranjan Banerjee said, “You do not become a global leader when you hit CEO. It is an internal journey and you must enjoy the climb. It is the journey of a lifetime.” Dean from the Partner Schools also welcomed the participants, appreciated their decision of joining GMP and also assured them of an amazing learning experience.
Prof. Prem Chandrani, Advisor to GMP, shared the genesis of the programme and how it has gone from strength to strength creating global leaders. Speaking on SPJIMR legacy and Bhavan’s culture, Dr. Sesha Iyer highlighted that leadership needs to be inspired by service and sacrifice with a very strong foundation and value system. Dr. Debasis Mallik, Head GMP shared his thoughts on effective communication and the art of listening.
