SPrint 2017, the annual sports festival of SPJIMR

January 20, 2017

The SPJIMR campus, bubbling with multiple activities and events in the first month of the New Year, saw new excitement on Friday evening (Jan 20, 2017) as the annual inter B-school sports festival, SPrint 2017, took off on the SPJIMR grounds.

Participants from 12 institutes across the country joined in for the inaugural and will participate in a series of sports events over the weekend. The spirit of ‘Jung, Junoon, Josh’, the words emblazoned on the SPrint T-shirts, will see the entire campus spending more time on the open grounds as the matches are played out.

The inaugural function had a symbolic handing of the torch from the SPrint convener of the last year to the current batch followed by traditional lezhim dance performance by school children who are a part of SPJIMR’s mentoring programme, Abhyudaya.

Said Prof. Sajeev A. George, Faculty Advisor – SPrint, “We are delighted that SPrint is getting bigger and better every year. We are looking forward to some exciting contests this year.”

Dean Dr. Ranjan Banerjee was at the inaugural. He said, “Managers and sportspersons have similar attributes. We need to spend more time in the field to learn from the field of sport.”

The campus wears a festive look as participants are also preparing for the SPJIMR’s annual college festival, Ojas 9, just around the time it plays host to hundreds of aspirants who are here for the first round of interviews for the next batch of the PGDM programme.
