The Mumbai edition of the SPJIMR TPO Summit 2023 brought together eminent training and placement officers from leading engineering and non-engineering institutes across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane and Pune, to discuss the changing trends of campus recruitment in India. The summit featured distinguished keynote and panellists who shared their insights and expertise on emerging trends, best practices, and challenges facing campus recruitment in India.

Ms. Sujatha Sudheendra, Head HR & Admin, Aditya Birla Finance Ltd and Head Diversity & Inclusion, Aditya Birla Capital gave valuable insights on the ‘Innovative Recruitment Strategies for a Changing Talent Landscape’. She commented, “I appreciate the initiative of hosting The TPO Summit by SPJIMR, which demonstrates progressive thinking. It reiterates how campuses and institutions are embracing future employees to create a great customer-centric organisation.”

The panel discussion moderated by Mr. Bhishm Chugani, Director, Career Services, SPJIMR, featured notable panellists from the industry, including Suchit Shome (DBS Bank), Beena Jacob (DHL Supply Chain), Atulaya Goswami (General Mills), Shweta Srivastava (SHL), Arpita Vyas (Fractal), and Daya Sajnani (SPJIMR). The panel discussed various perspectives on the “Changing Trends of Campus Recruitment in India”, including emerging trends, best practices, student mindsets, attrition rate, employee retention and evolving industry challenges.

SPJIMR Associate Dean, Full-time programmes, Prof. Renuka Kamath, noted, “The TPO Summit brought together two important stakeholders in the life of a student, i.e. HR and the training and placement officer, to deliberate upon the idea of how placements are not just a first job out of campus but also a very important pathway of a student’s life and career going forward. The summit aptly addressed the concerns of the TPOs and provided a platform for the industry and academia to network and collaborate for future opportunities.”
