Prof. Ajinkya Navare and Prof. Renuka Kamath win the ‘Best Paper’ award at INDAM 2025

SPJIMR professors Ajinkya Navare and Renuka Kamath won the ‘Best Paper of the Conference Award’ and the ‘Best Paper of the Track Award’ (Indian Management Wisdom and Advancement) at the 10th Indian Academy of Management (INDAM) 2025 Conference, hosted by IIFT Kolkata. Affiliated with the Academy of Management, USA, INDAM attracts global scholars and participants due to its growing popularity. The 2025 edition comprised 13 Tracks around the theme — Reminiscence of time-tested management concepts: Acceptance, adaptation, advancement.

Discussing their research paper, ‘Selling with spirit: How karma yoga principles transform sales performance’, Prof. Navare explained that it bridges Eastern philosophy with Western management practices. He elaborated, “By exploring how Karma Yoga principles can enhance sales performance and reduce burnout, we hope to contribute to the growing dialogue on positive organisational behaviour and well-being in the workplace. We analysed data from 323 sales professionals in India’s FMCG sector to uncover new insights into the potential of Karma Yoga in transforming sales practices.”

Co-author Prof. Aakash Kamble (FLAME University) commented, “The research brings forward an innovative perspective by integrating Karma Yoga principles into the domain of sales performance and well-being.”

Prof. Navare added, “This recognition strengthens our commitment to exploring indigenous Indian management frameworks and integrating them into mainstream management research and education!”
