SPJIMR announced its new Student Council (SCON) for the academic year 2026–27, comprising general secretaries across the portfolios of campus living, cultural affairs, sports, and professional development. The council assumed responsibility for strengthening student engagement and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and enriching campus environment.
This year marks a significant first for the institute with the inclusion of Councillors from PGPM in the Student Council. This development brought together representatives from both the PGDM and PGPM programmes under a unified student leadership body, reinforcing cross-cohort collaboration and broadening student representation across the institute.
The new council was inducted at the Investiture Ceremony in March 2026, as students returned to campus following their summer internships. Congratulating the newly elected members, SCON 2025–26 signed off with the reflection: “The journey was not ours alone – it was built together, through shared effort, honest feedback, and collective intent.” The Student’s Election Commission contributed to a seamless, participatory electoral process.
SCON 2026-27 will work closely with Prof. Varun Nagaraj, Dean, SPJIMR, whose mentorship continues to play a key role in enabling student-led initiatives and leadership development across campus.
With a renewed sense of purpose, the Student Council 2026–27 looks forward to a year centered on community building, meaningful initiatives, and collective growth.
Being elected as the Campus Living General Secretary is a deeply proud moment for me. Just 10 months ago, when I first stepped into hostel life away from my hometown, I wasn’t sure if I would truly adjust here. Today, this campus feels like home and being trusted to improve everyone’s living experience feels incredibly meaningful. As Campus Living General Secretary, I hope to work towards better infrastructure, improved food and medical support, and more inclusive recreational spaces to make campus life more comfortable and enjoyable for all.
I’m truly honoured to be elected as the General Secretary of Professional Development. I’m deeply grateful for the faith the student community has placed in me. This role carries an important responsibility in shaping professional outcomes on campus, and I’m committed to giving it my best. We have an incredibly talented cohort across Professor Development clubs, and I’m confident the coming year will be enriching and participative for all. Just months ago, this felt like wishful thinking, but now it has turned into reality. I’m motivated to make this trust count. Onwards and upwards!
Being elected as the General Secretary for Cultural Activities is a responsibility I deeply value. My vision is to build an inclusive cultural ecosystem at SPJIMR, one where every community and language is respected and celebrated, and every student finds a space to express themselves and feel a sense of belonging. I aim to strengthen existing platforms and create new ones to enable wider engagement across the creative arts. Through this, I hope to shape a campus experience that creates unforgettable moments outside the classroom, while complementing students’ academic and professional journeys.
As a sports enthusiast on campus, I have seen gaps in the system firsthand and felt that it was time for standardisation, improvement, and more opportunities. As the elected Sports General Secretary, my mission is simple: to lay the foundation for better infrastructure and enhance the sports community and overall wellness. I have always looked at an MBA as more than just securing a good placement. It is also about building strong relationships and growing as a person. Sports, I believe, can help make that happen more naturally. Having good infrastructure and an enthusiastic community will not only enhance participation but also encourage new participants to grow, build relationships, and create lasting memories.
A great PGPM experience is remembered not just for academics and placements, but for the friendships, memories, and sense of belonging built along the way. As a PGPM SCON Representative, I want to help create a more connected and inclusive campus environment where people feel comfortable being themselves. Along with addressing student concerns, I hope to make campus life more engaging through sports, cultural activities, celebrations, and shared experiences that bring people together. For me, leadership is about listening, taking action, and ensuring every student feels heard and represented.
Getting elected to SCON means a lot to me, not just as a role, but as a chance to give back to the SPJIMR community that has shaped me. I want to help create a culture where people feel connected and supported, and where they grow together beyond the classroom. As an experienced cohort, we all came here to strengthen the skills that will shape our next chapter. My vision for the PGPM batch is to encourage greater participation in academics, competitions, committees, and industry interactions, while fostering an environment that celebrates wins, supports each other through challenges, and creates friendships that last beyond graduation.
