SPJIMR (S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research) has announced a new campus in the heart of New Delhi, where it is all set to launch a specially designed executive management programme targeted at professionals in and around the National Capital Region.
The launch of a second campus marks an important milestone in the three decade journey of SPJIMR, a top 10 school of management that has so far functioned from its one and only 45 acre campus in Mumbai.
The new teaching facilities are at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s campus near Connaught Place, a premier location from where SPJIMR will offer select and innovative programmes that will be delivered by the Institute’s large and experienced faculty body.
The first programme to be launched at New Delhi will be the Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGP-GM), a new 24 month alternate weekend programme for working professionals. The programme is specially designed for executives with five or more years of work experience, who are unable to take a career break for further education.
Said Dr. Ranjan Banerjee, Dean, SPJIMR: “There are large number of working executives who have expressed an interest in SPJIMR but are not able to access our offerings because we were only in Mumbai. We can now provide additional value to these potential participants by being present in New Delhi. We also see that Delhi and Mumbai as two key markets where we need to be present as an Institute when we look at life-long learning. Further, we see this as an opportunity to provide stronger services to the government sector over an extended period of time.”
Dr. Preeta George, Professor of Economics and Chairperson of the PGEMP programme and the upcoming PGP-GM programme in New Delhi said: “We have built a robust executive education programme at our Mumbai campus over 15 years and now have the opportunity to tweak that offering and take it to New Delhi. This will help us expand our reach and make SPJIMR’s renowned executive education more accessible.”
PGP-GM is designed to impart the knowledge and skills of a full-fledged Executive MBA programme and is tailored specifically for middle-senior management executives. The objective of the programme is to build general management talent for companies from their pool of high potential functional managers. The programme will help fast track career growth, create a cadre of change agents and a leadership pipeline for companies.
The PGP-GM curriculum and pedagogy is modelled on the PGEMP (Post Graduate Executive Management Programme) offered at SPJIMR’s Mumbai campus.
