SPJIMR’s FMB team at the Sasin Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific 2025

SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai, participated in the Sasin Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific 2025 (FECC-AP 2025 at Sasin) held from August 14–16, 2025, at the Sasin School of Management, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Sasin Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific is a premier regional platform focused on family business issues. It provides graduate students with the opportunity to showcase their business acumen, analytical thinking, and presentation skills in a highly competitive environment, contributing to the mission of inspire, connect, and transform for a better, smarter, and sustainable world.

SPJIMR’s FMB team emerged as the overall winners across the first two days of competition, competing against eight distinguished institutions:

  • Sasin School of Management (Team 1)
  • Sasin School of Management (Team 2)
  • Nagoya University of Commerce and Business
  • Fudan University
  • Universiti Putra Malaysia
  • Prince of Songkla University
  • Universiti Utara Malaysia
  • National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University

The event culminated in a competitive final round, where the SPJIMR team secured the 2nd runner-up position.

SPJIMR was represented by batch 36 participants—Anagh Khandelwal, Jaival Shah, Shivoy Gyanee and Shubham Agarwal—under the mentorship of Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar, whose guidance and strategic insights played a pivotal role in equipping the team to tackle complex case challenges with clarity and confidence.

Evaluation parameter

Teams were assessed based on:

  • Problem and root cause identification (family, business, and family-business issues)
  • Application of relevant concepts, theories, and models
  • Practicality, sustainability, and alignment of recommendations with family values
  • Implementation plan with timelines, milestones, risks, and contingencies
  • Clarity, engagement, and structure of presentation delivery
  • Ability to handle judges’ questions effectively
  • Teamwork, alignment, and collaboration
