SPJIMR’s PGDM Online programme inaugurated Batch 03 – Cohort 01, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for aspiring future leaders. The virtual ceremony brought together distinguished faculty, industry leaders, and an enthusiastic cohort of professionals from diverse sectors ready to drive meaningful change in their organisations.
The inauguration featured inspiring addresses from three distinguished speakers who set the tone for the programme’s commitment to values-driven leadership and impact. Prof. Debmallya Chatterjee, Chairperson PGDM Online, delivered a powerful message urging learners to lead with self-awareness and strong values—foundational principles that will guide their leadership journey throughout the programme and beyond.
Dean Varun Nagaraj emphasised the critical importance of understanding complex challenges before attempting to solve them. His insight that “designing for impact means deeply understanding the problem” resonated strongly with the cohort, highlighting the programme’s focus on evidence-based, thoughtful approaches to business challenges.
Chief guest Abhijit Majumdar, Partner and Digital Strategy Consulting Leader at PwC India, brought a sense of urgency and opportunity to the proceedings. His compelling message, “This is the decade to act—lead with courage,” challenged the new cohort to embrace bold leadership in addressing today’s business imperatives. His industry perspective reinforced the programme’s practical relevance and the immediate applicability of the learning journey ahead.
The new cohort brings a distinctly diverse and well-rounded profile, with an average of five years’ work experience and a gender ratio of 41% female to 59% male. Their academic backgrounds reflect a wide range of specialisations including Engineering (B.E.), Technology (B.Tech), Commerce (B.Com), Arts (B.A.), Business Administration (BBA), Science (B.Sc.), Architecture (B.Arch), Science in Psychology (B.Sc. in Psychology), Fashion Technology (B.FTech), Management Studies (BMS). While majority of participants are based in India, 12% have joined from the United Arab Emirates and the United States, adding a global dimension to the group. Professionally, the cohort includes individuals working with leading organisations such as Amazon Development Centre, Johnson & Johnson, Decathlon Sports India, Mastercard, IndusInd Bank, Shell India Markets, and Wells Fargo. This rich blend of academic diversity, industry experience, and international exposure creates a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
As Batch 03 – Cohort 01 embarks on this rigorous academic journey, they carry forward the institution’s legacy of developing leaders who create a positive impact through ethical business practices and innovation. The cohort will be well-equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical tools to drive meaningful change in their respective fields.
Together, this cohort will shape the future of business practice in India and across the globe. SPJIMR is proud to partner with them on their evolution into tomorrow’s business leaders.
