S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research is delighted to announce that a team of four PGDM participants has emerged as the winner of the Accenture B-School Challenge Season 9, themed ‘Reinvention in the Age of Gen AI’. The team—Karanveer Singh Marwah, Eesh Gupta, Ravi Thakkar and Ritwik Vyas—triumphed over approximately 11,000 students from 16 premier business schools across India.

The winning solution focused on driving process reinvention for enterprises through agentic AI, reimagining the inbound scrap procurement process in the steel industry. The team leveraged agentic AI, vendor management, and human-in-the-loop dashboards to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and supplier trust. Their approach optimised scheduling, inspection, and claim validation while ensuring robust governance and digital resilience.

A distinctive feature of the solution was its adaptability during a simulated cyberattack, where it demonstrated self-learning capabilities through live data integration — showcasing the transformative potential of human-AI collaboration in building agile, future-ready operations.

The team was mentored by Prof. Harit Joshi and Prof. Vidhu Shekhar throughout a multi-stage competition that included rapid-fire quizzes, interactive simulations, industry-specific masterclasses, and presentations before distinguished jury panels comprising senior industry leaders and Accenture executives.

Reflecting on the experience, Karanveer described it as “a true masterclass in uniting technology, empathy, and strategy to solve real problems.” Eesh noted that “each round sharpened our thinking and taught us to simplify with impact,” while Ravi highlighted how “working under pressure showed how diverse strengths create winning outcomes.” Ritwik added that “recognition from the jury reaffirmed our belief in the power of human-AI collaboration.”
