Team SPJIMR emerged as the 2nd runner-up at the national finals of the HUL FinAce 2025, standing out among over 1,500 teams from India’s top B-schools. The team—comprising Abhyudaya Gupta, Tanmay Arora, and Akula Vamsi (all from PGDM 2025–27)—demonstrated exceptional analytical and strategic skills across five rigorous rounds covering M&A, finance, strategy, and marketing.

The national finals challenged participants with the theme ‘The beauty of agility: Showcasing financial and strategic leadership through disruption’, a case study set in India’s rapidly evolving haircare and skincare industry. Teams were tasked with envisioning the brand’s future, identifying portfolio gaps, and designing strategies to drive sustained growth.

SPJIMR’s team impressed the jury with its methodical, insight-driven problem-solving. “We started by identifying the root causes of the company’s challenges and proposed forward-looking, cost-efficient, and practical solutions,” shared Abhyudaya. Their presentation stood out for its detailed risk assessment, mitigation plan, and alternate strategies prioritised by feasibility — a comprehensive approach that resonated strongly with the judges.

The team also acknowledged Milan Madaan from the Placement Committee for his support throughout the multi-stage competition. “Since there were multiple online and offline rounds, Milan ensured we could focus on the solution while he managed all administrative aspects. A heartfelt thanks to him from all three of us,” added Abhyudaya.

This achievement highlights SPJIMR’s emphasis on developing leaders who combine strategic thinking with practical execution. As our students continue to excel on national platforms, they reinforce the institution’s commitment to shaping professionals who create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
