SPJIMR has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universidade Católica Portuguesa, one of Portugal’s most distinguished institutions, recognised for its high standards in research, training, and societal impact. For over 50 years, Universidade Católica Portuguesa has advanced an internationally-focussed, transformative education and research model rooted in the rich legacy of Catholic universities.
The agreement was formalised on October 30, 2024 in Porto, Portugal, between João Pinto, Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) and Prof. Varun Nagaraj, Dean, SPJIMR. This partnership outlines broad collaboration over the next five years, including faculty and researcher exchanges, joint research and academic initiatives, and graduate student mobility.
A significant aspect of this partnership is the specific collaboration between SPJIMR’s WISE Innovation Studio for Emerging Technologies (WISE Tech) and CPBS’s Insure Hub. This partnership aims to build a vibrant international ecosystem focussed on sustainable, circular, and regenerative business solutions, fuelled by disruptive technologies.
Additionally, an agreement to facilitate short-term graduate student exchanges will commence from the 2024–2025 academic year, further strengthening ties between the institutions.
During the visit, Dean Nagaraj also participated in the 4th INSURE Hub Conference as a speaker on ‘Innovation for Sustainability’, addressing students, researchers, and industry professionals on innovation, sustainability, and regeneration.
