The New Leaders at Alumni Relations Office |
|
|
|
|
There is additional strength and attention being added to SPJIMR’s Alumni Office. Two new leadership positions are being taken up.
Mr. Bhishm Chugani will now serve as SPJIMR’s Director of Alumni Relations in addition to his existing duties as Director of Career Services. Professor Abbas has been appointed as the Honorary Advisor of Alumni Relations.
Commenting on this new position, Mr. Chugani, said, “I am excited to take on this additional role of managing Alumni Relations at SPJIMR while spearheading Career Services. With the lockdown now behind us, we are actively seeking new ideas and opportunities for alumni to congregate on technology platforms in their respective home location, which can be followed by periodic, energizing campus reunion.”

Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar joins the editorial board of The Case Journal |
|
|
|
|
The Case Journal (TCJ) has a new set of expert hands to maximize the efforts of authors writing cases for the journal.
Professor Tulsi Jayakumar has been invited to join TCJ’s editorial board in the capacity of Associate Editor. In this honorary position, she will oversee case review processes, edit cases according to the journal author’s guidelines, and assist in promoting the journal within the authors’ networks and at any conferences they attend. She will also provide feedback on special issue proposals.
Jayakumar has a string of titles to back up her credentials. She is the Executive Director of the SPJIMR Centre for Family Business and Entrepreneurship; Chairperson of the Postgraduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB), and Professor of Finance and Economics.

July 30, 2023, was a special day at Abhyudaya. The air was thumping with expectation and excitement as senior mentors introduced Sitaras to their incoming mentors at “Meet Your Super Sitara”, an elegant entertainment event organized for the handover.
The event, planned over weeks, by first-year students, had former mentors and mentees candidly share their experiences and offer guidance to the incoming students.
The cherry on top was the “mentor-mentee-mapping” exercise, where new mentors hunted for their match while having fun making “Super Hero Watches” for one another out of Origami. They also learned about one another’s interests and went clicking themselves in the “Instagram” booth set up to capture the rhapsody

Yes Securities Benchmark 2023 |
|

SPJIMR’s Centre for Financial Innovation (CFI) hosted a practitioner research colloquium, “Yes Securities Benchmark 2023,” complete with cash awards for outstanding research and a panel discussion on the future of the fintech sector. The event was sponsored by Yes Securities and SBI Caps.
At the event, the top ten finalists presented their research, which focused on financial innovation and, markets and risks, and covered the young scholar and doctoral tracks. From these ten presentations, the top three in each track were honored with cash awards for their research efforts.
A roundtable discussion where industry stalwarts discussed the direction of fintech was also part of the event.
