Business Today Ranks SPJIMR as Top Private Indian B-School |

|
|
SPJIMR has earned its place in the spotlight in Business Today’s annual ranking of the best B-Schools in India.
The publication has recognised our institution as the best private B-school in India and the 5th best overall in its B-School 2023 rankings.
Brimming with pride, Dean, Varun Nagaraj, in his interview with the publication, expressed his delight in the institution’s focus on innovation and holistic learning outcomes which he believed, educated his students for success in a fluid business environment.
Apart from winning the top honours, SPJIMR also excelled in Business Today's specific categories. We were placed 7th for our Executive Management Courses and 8th for our one-year MBA programme (PGPM) respectively, which served to demonstrate our commitment and dedication to excellence in management education.

SPJIMR hosts Supply Chain Practitioners Council (SCPC) Edition 14.0 |
|

SPJIMR hosted the SCPC Edition 14.0 on “Emerging Digital Commerce Initiatives and Supply Chain Imperatives” at its Mumbai campus. The SCPC intends to create an environment to propel India towards global supply chain leadership and make it a go-to place for SC excellence. The 14th edition brought together leading supply chain practitioners from across diverse industries, and academicians to explore the transformative impact of digital integration on supply chains.
Prof. Sesha Iyer set the day’s agenda for the conclave. SPJIMR alumnus Prasad Kurup, Vice President & Senior Partner, Asia Pacific – Data & Technology Transformation, IBM Consulting introduced SCPC and said, “We aim at both contributing and imbibing knowledge on supply chain dynamics.” Prof. Sheila Roy delivered the keynote address on the role of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in optimising supply chain management practices, providing insights into harnessing ONDC for enhanced supply chain management. She noted, “The challenges faced by mom-and-pop stores in going digital are significant. ONDC seeks to digitise micro and SMEs, capture new markets, and overcome monopolies. It also enables the unbundling of the commerce value chain, providing scalable discovery capabilities.”
The panel discussion on the conclave’s theme “Emerging Digital Commerce Initiatives and Supply Chain Imperatives”, featured Nemisha Ghia, COO, More Retail; Santosh Rao, Partner and Executive Director-India-South Asia, IBM iX; Dhritiman Chakraborty, CSCP, Director Operations, Ingram Micro India Limited; Sameer Jain, VP of Supply Chain, Jio; Swapnil Shah, Founder, Freight Tiger; Manish Gupta, Founding Partner, Kuiper Solution, and other esteemed guests. The panellists discussed multiple aspects of the pivotal role of digital integration in reshaping supply chains.
The event also featured a hackathon sponsored by Henkel, where SPJIMR students showcased their skills and innovative ideas, contributing to the ongoing digital transformation in the supply chain industry.
Prof. Debmallya Chatterjee, Department Chair, Operations, Supply Chain Management & Quantitative Methods, commented, “The Supply Chain Practitioners Council event served as a platform for industry experts, academia, and students to explore emerging digital commerce initiatives and supply chain imperatives. The panel discussions, keynote address, and enthusiastic participation in the hackathon highlighted our commitment to driving innovation and excellence in supply chain management. |

Mrs. Arati Nagaraj takes over as Director, Abhyudaya |
|
|
|
|
Ms. Arati Nagaraj will serve as Director, Abhyudaya, effective 20th June 2023. Arati will be responsible for running and continuously improving the current Abhyudaya offering. She will also explore opportunities to expand the scope of Abhyudaya.
Meanwhile, Ms. Deepa Krishnan has moved into an Advisory Role.

All forty-nine Sitaras who appeared for the SSC and HSC examinations have successfully cleared the boards that were held in March 2023. While the SSC topper scored 91.4%, the HSC highest scorer achieved 90.5% in Commerce.

Dr. M. L. Shrikant left behind a legacy for Abhyudaya Sitaras in the form of a Scholarship Fund. We have granted Sitara Ishrat Fatima a scholarship from this fund so she can pursue her dream of being a doctor. Ishrat is a 2nd Year MBBS student. |

The PGPM programme is ideal for working executives. It is designed as a career accelerator that enables candidates with minimum 3 years of work experience and strong domain expertise, to move to expansive roles in general management. Women with a career break of 2 years or more may be considered for a special track for women.
PGPM has a 2-month online module, a one-year full-time residential component followed by a 4-month industry and international immersion module. In aggregate, the programme is 18 months in duration.
