LOGIC OF ARCHITECTURE
The Programme follows SPJIMR's successful KSA (Knowledge-Skills-Attitude) model - a model recognised as one which is refreshingly different from conventional B-schools. This model aims at:
(a) Imparting Knowledge in functional areas like finance, marketing, operations, business environment.
(b) Imparting Skills-e.g. Negotiation, Decision-making.
(c) Development of Attitudes-e.g. Managing Self, Business and Society. At the same time, such teaching-learning as happens at SPJIMR's FMB Programme seeks to develop each of these pillars along 4 dimensions: Business, Self, Society and Family.
At the end of the Programme, participants will gather the knowledge required to understand his/her business, his/her own self, the society in which he/she lives and his/her own family. Similarly, he/she will develop the skills and attitudes to deal with each of these four dimensions required for any business owner.
The programme is modular in nature. The participants will complete three phases of on-contact learning over 13 consecutive months. This will be followed by a period wherein the participant along with his/her mentor will work on the Business and Role Plan for his/her business. He/she shall make an interim presentation of the business and Role plan in the 15th/16th month will be followed by a final presentation in the 18th month, to a review panel in the presence of the participant's mentor. A contact refers to the time spent on campus by the participant in a formal classroom atmosphere or learning through non-classroom initiatives. Each contact would comprise of 6-8 days following a pre-determined calendar schedule. 11 (of the 13 contacts) will be held over 6 days (between Monday – Saturday) while
2 of the 13 contacts will be held over 8 days (Monday – next Wednesday). Classes will be held between 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
Changes in a contact (if any) will be notified to the participant well in advance.
Quizzes/Tests will be conducted every contact.
During the off-contact period (typically 3 weeks), participants are required to complete assignments/ projects and upload them on e-kosh (SPJIMR's Learning Management System) according to the schedule notified. Typically, a participant will need to complete four assignments in each off-contact session. These are graded assignments and will make up for the internal evaluation components.
