The 12th batch of GMP – Global Management Programme (GMP) was inaugurated today – June 22, 2020. Following social distancing norms, the inauguration was held online. This is certainly a different experience compared to what is done traditionally. SPJIMR’s faculty, staff, and GMP alumni welcomed 37 participants from diverse backgrounds. Alumni from the batch of 2010 to 2018, attended from 8 different locations around the globe. Some of the notable alumni who interacted with the new batch are Capt. Mayur Paralkar, Roohi Mittal, Avana Maity, Anuj Tewari, Siddharth Saboo, Divya Agrawal, Bhuvnesh Sharma, Shikha Sharma and Mamta Bijlani. Alumni spoke about their journey and encouraged the new batch to get in touch with them whenever the need be.
The event commenced with SPJIMR’s traditional Student-Teacher Relationship Prayer followed by an address by SPJIMR’s Dean – Dr. Ranjan Banerjee. Prof. Vineeta Dwivedi spoke about the Institute, its programs, ethos and values. Prof. Prem Chandrani introduced the audience to the inception of the GMP program, way back in 2008, based on funding from the European Commission. Programme Head – Dr. Debasis Mallik spoke about the importance of being genuine in networking and also introduced the new batch to the programme architecture.
Upon successful completion of GMP, participants will join the partner schools in EBS Universität in Oestrich-Winkel, IESEG – School Of Management in Paris/Lille and Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Amsterdam/Breukelen, from where they will finally graduate.
