The 6th edition of the FICCI Innovation Summit brought together some of India’s leading voices in human resources (HR) and business innovation at The Lalit, Mumbai. Curated by the FICCI National HR Committee, this year’s theme, ‘Purpose, People, and Possibility: The HR Trinity’, set the stage for rich dialogue on the future of work.
SPJIMR’s Prof. Snehal Shah participated as a panellist and moderator, bringing her expertise to one of India’s most respected HR platforms. The Summit reinforced its position as a premier forum for exploring the intersection of business transformation and human capital development.
Across five critical tracks, the summit examined the defining challenges of today’s workplace: leadership under pressure, the transition from role-based models to readiness-focused talent strategies, the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in everyday innovation, leading diverse and multi-generational teams, and scaling grassroots innovation.
Prof. Shah moderated the prestigious National HR Innovation Awards presentation session, where winners and runners-up showcased groundbreaking initiatives. Reflecting on the experience, she noted, “It was a privilege to moderate a panel of FICCI awardees in the categories of future of work and technology at the workplace. The experience proved both enriching and inspiring as I listened to innovative solutions developed across challenging contexts to create genuine value for stakeholders. I hope such exemplary work continues to enlighten and guide the HR community each year.”
The summit also featured keynote addresses and fireside chats between CEOs and CHROs, exploring how organisations can transform uncertainty into growth catalysts through experimental leadership and learning-orientated cultures. The launch of the FICCI Knowledge Report, developed with Grant Thornton, offered delegates cutting-edge insights into emerging HR innovation trends.
SPJIMR’s engagement in this flagship event underscores its commitment to advancing management education by staying deeply connected to industry practice. The summit’s focus on purpose-driven leadership, people-centric strategies, and human possibility resonates strongly with SPJIMR’s philosophy of developing leaders who create sustainable value for business and society.
The event concluded with cross-sector networking, fostering collaboration essential for driving innovation in India’s evolving workplace. Such platforms enable academic institutions like SPJIMR with opportunities to enrich their learning environments while contributing meaningfully to national conversations on the future of work.
