Paper Development Workshop 2023

SPJIMR hosted the Paper Development Workshop in collaboration with Organization Studies (an FT50 journal) and Organization Theory (a global, peer-reviewed, open-access journal in collaboration with the European Group for Organizational Studies) on December 8th and 9th, 2023. The workshop aimed to benefit academics, early career scholars, and PhD students and offered them support in developing their manuscripts for submission to top-tier journals.

The event commenced with a plenary session led by Prof. Paolo Quattrone from Alliance Manchester Business School, UK (Co-Editor-in-Chief of Organisation Studies), Prof. Markus Höllerer from UNSW Sydney, Australia & WU Vienna, Austria (Co-Editor-in-Chief of Organization Theory), and Prof. Chandrika Parmar, Chair, PRME India Chapter; Director, DoCC SPJIMR.

International mentors played a crucial role in guiding scholars. Notable facilitators included Prof. Marianna Fotaki from Warwick Business School, UK, Prof. Daniel Hjorth from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, and Prof. Johanna Mair from Hertie School of Governance, Germany. Other mentors, including Prof. Tammar Zilber from The Hebrew University Business School, Israel (Co-Editor-in-Chief of Organization Studies), Prof. Eva Boxenbaum from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, Prof. Graeme Currie from Warwick Business School, UK, Prof. Nancy Harding from University of Bath, UK, Prof. Renate E. Meyer from WU Vienna, Austria and Prof. David Seidl from University of Zurich, Switzerland joined the event online to offer mentorship.

The workshop saw the active participation of 43 authors from 28 institutions, presenting a total of 30 manuscripts across eight panel sessions held over the two days. The event concluded with a closing plenary session, where faculty members and paper authors engaged in a fruitful discussion.

PRME World Tour Paper Development Workshop (Past Event)

The PRME Paper Development Workshop was held on March 3, 2023, between 13:30 and 17:30 IST. The event saw the participation of over 100 institutions from around the country and more from around the world. Over 50 papers were received, of which 41 were shortlisted for publication in internationally acclaimed management journals. 20 Mentors from 17 business schools around the world were invited to provide their feedback on the papers.

Laura Spence, Professor of Business Ethics at Royal Halloway, delivered the keynote address.
