February 26, 2025

SPJIMR welcomed eight international executives as part of the Lighthouse Unplugged immersion, a global leadership experience by Common Purpose, a UK-based charity with a presence in India. It offers transformative leadership experiences for individuals and organisations who want to make a difference in their worlds and the world around them.

The session focused on ‘Ethical Leadership,’ offering participants insights into SPJIMR’s distinctive approach to leadership, social consciousness, and values-driven education. Prof. Prabhat Pani shared the history of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and SPJIMR, highlighting initiatives like Abhyudaya, PGPDM, DOCC, WISE Tech, CISD, CWIL and CFBE, which shape socially responsible leaders. Prof. Jagdish Rattanani explored the role of ethics in business education and the challenges of DEI, sustainability, and corporate responsibility in the Indian context. Prof. Surya Tahora introduced alternative and wisdom-based leadership models, emphasising the role of spirituality in management.

Participants appreciated SPJIMR’s unique ethos, particularly the impact of the Abhyudaya programme. The International Relations team played a key role in facilitating this meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences.
