The Center of Financial Studies (CFS) organized an engrossing webinar on the topic, ‘Indian Economy: Navigating Through A Crisis’ on May 27th, featuring leading economic thinkers, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Former Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission and Dr Duvvuri Subbarao, Former Governor, RBI. The session moderated by Professor Ananth Narayan saw the two distinguished personalities give their take on India’s economic situation and the way forward, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Un-Stereotype 2020 was a flagship event under the inclusion and diversity objective of the Post Graduate Management Program for Women, S. P. Jain Institute Of Management & Research, Mumbai. The event was collaborated with Avtar, India’s premier diversity and inclusion solutions company.
UnStereotype was conceptualized with an objective of starting conversations around gender equality and making the society and organizations aware of challenges women face in their life (in quest to find their own identity). The indirect objective was to support the diversity movement and keep nudging the companies to make significant change in their inclusion policies.

The first ever online SPJIMR Day Celebration was a roaring success! It was a day of records! From a total of 1303 registrants a record number of 852 attendees comprising of SPJIMR faculty, staff, students, and alumni from all parts of the world tuned in to witness a magical evening of inspiring speeches, heartwarming stories, and a musical performance by current participants which stole the show! The chat boxes were abuzz with delighted alumni connecting with each other and demanding calls for an encore event next year! It was truly an evening where the SPJIMR family came together as one community and exemplified the spirit of courage and heart!

SPJIMR's PGMPW programme's hosted the Unstereotype 2020 event which saw 7 inspiring individuals share their life stories which shattered stereotypes through their sheer determination and will power. The event served to highlight and promote the importance of gender equality and diversity at the workplace and the importance of standing up for your rights and justice to make a difference in society. The powerful stories left a deep mark on the audience and the event was a resounding success.

Ehsaas – The NGO Mela, took place on campus on 24th February. The DoCC and Sustainability Committee had invited 43 self-help groups to set up stalls featuring items like jams and pickles, chocolates, ayurvedic products, handicrafted jewelry, ajarakh and bandhini sarees, kurtis, home linen and much more. The mela was further enlivened with a live counter where patrons could try their hands at pottery and get mehendi applied.

The 4th M.L. Srikanth memorial lecture took place on January 23rd in front of a packed audience of students and faculty at the new auditorium, now fittingly named as the M.L. Srikanth auditorium in an opening ceremony just prior to the commencement of the event. The lecture was given by Arun Maira, former member of Planning Commission of India & former chairman of Boston Consulting Group who quoted Gandhi, Lewis Carroll, Lincoln & Greta Thurnberg to present compelling and thought-provoking narrative on the failing standards of global corporate governance and asked management students to decide what kind of life they want to pursue - "one of learning or earning?"
